In the moonlight, a woman in a white lace dress was kneeling on the stone steps of the chapel, her face buried in her hands, her shoulders trembling. She had no feet. Below her dress, there was only a swirling black mist. "I see her." Lorenzo let out a low whistle. "Two years ago, Marco put her in the ground right there. Her ashes are buried under the rose bushes behind the chapel." I didn't stop, walking straight toward the chapel. Giovanni froze behind me but didn't dare to call out. As I reached the bottom of the steps, the female ghost's head snapped up. She lunged at me, her face a sickly pale green, her eye sockets empty black pits.

By the time Richard arrived, the funeral was almost over. Everyone who had come to say goodbye was gone. Only I remained. I wanted a little more time with Chloe. She'd always been clingy. And she was afraid of the dark. "Richard, see? I told you Selena was lying. If this were really a funeral, why is nobody here? This is obviously another stunt to get you to come home." Grace's voice cut through the silence. Richard's face darkened.

Lucas asked. “Because I dreamed about this. Her mother is doing to be in her bedroom with her father down the end of the hall. And there’s going to be an older boy about 10. He’s going to be in his room as well. All dead from vampires.” I whispered so Amora couldn’t hear me. So we walked through the house and the bodies were exactly where I said they were going to be. We checked the rest of the house, just in case I missed anything in the dream, but that was unlikely. And we went back out the front.

Upon noticing him, Yusra walked toward the boy before asking, “Did you hear that as well, Mr. Crawford?” After nodding in response, Gerald watched as Hauk—who had a whisk in hand—came out as well before saying, “How strange… Even if regular ghosts were to notice us, they’d most probably be too afraid to come close… With that said, I wonder who’s daring enough to beat those drums…” “It’s clearly a sign that our guests aren’t ordinary ghosts, then… Regardless, we’ve been discovered!” muttered Master Greendrake as he and several others began walking out as well.

"You’ve cleared the site. You’ve removed the threats. Why are you still looking for ghosts?" He gripped my waist, his fingers digging into the fabric of my dress. "Because ghosts are the only things that can walk through walls, Eden. And Silas Vane is the best ghost in the business." "I haven't seen him; I doubt I'll see him while I'm indoors," I said, the lie tasting like copper in my mouth. "He’s just a name in a file to me now."

Everything was a mess! The man immediately turned his face at the little boy. His face darkened. "Tell me, Little Veen, how did I frighten her? I was merely showing her the memories of my real appearance but, I do not understand why she was so frightened and kept denying my existence even in her sleep." He said in dissatisfaction that reflected on his handsome face. The little boy called Veen coughed softly in a polite manner. "Your appearance now is similar to those of what humans called a ghost. You have not fully recovered your body yet, so you cannot do anything. Just let her be for now."

He wasn’t summoning beasts. He was dragging the in-between into the now. Cracks tore open in the sky. The air turned sharp, cold, wrong. Ghosts spilled through the veil—wolves, twisted and lost, turned half-mad by unfinished lives. Not just spirits. These were memories that had forgotten they’d died. They surged toward me. I roared, driving my dagger into the ground. A ring of light exploded outward. The ghosts wailed, some vanishing instantly, others dragged back into their graves by unseen hands.

"What are these things? They're like something out of a nightmare." Caleb's eyes glinted with determination as he stepped forward. "They're nothing we can't handle. Stay together and fight as one. We'll make it through this." And they did. The group worked together, their movements fluid and efficient as they battled the undead horde. Eventually, the last zombie had fallen, and they were able to continue on their journey. Their final obstacle came in the form of ghosts. As they approached their destination, they were suddenly surrounded by a group of ethereal beings, their faces twisted in anger and pain. The ghosts seemed to materialize out of thin air, their moans echoing through the night

, Dawn said slowly “a vengeful spirit” Lena sighed “thought it might be”, she admitted. Dawn frowned at her “wait, you knew?” she asked, astounded “how?” The blackette was aware at how open minded Lena was but she didn’t think that she would go as far as to place the blame on it for Bryce and Shawna’s deaths. “My godmother told me all about different supernatural things, including ghosts”, the brunette explained “she’s an occult professor. Anyway, when I saw the hook in the wall…it made me think of the Hook Man legend. So I guessed it was a ghost”.

Marcus cast his eyes down as his shame covered him like a new winter’s coat. “ For now,Noah, please just trust me.” For a while after Noah left his room, Marcus stared up at the ceiling, feeling like the lowest form of life for lying to his best friend. How could he possibly explain to him that his dad and new girlfriend were being haunted by an ancient spirit, the same one who haunted his gran and her sister years before? “ Hello Marcus.” The voice which suddenly interrupted his thoughts, was melodious and familiar. Marcus looked to his side and by the light of the moon beaming through the window, he saw her.
