"I saw the light. Wanted to check if you were still here." Lily closed the drawer. "I am. And I was just leaving." Ethan nodded slowly, his gaze lingering too long. "Be careful, Lily. The deeper you dig, the more graves you might uncover." Her eyes narrowed. "Is that a warning, Mr. Moore?" He gave her a thin smile. "Just advice. Some ghosts prefer to stay buried." That night, Lily couldn’t sleep. Her mind replayed Ethan’s words, the photograph, Vivian’s signature, and the chilling note.

Lily gave a nod when she was transported back to her workplace. Tears formed in her eyes as she supported herself against a wall. After a while, she went upstairs. Later in the evening, Lily packed her satchel and was ready to go home. She went to the washroom and cleaned her hands when she a ghost behind her. She was going to shout but before she could, the soul possessed her body.

She had told her that the flowers that were needed were called Lilies Of Celeste. Lily Of Celeste was a magical plant that can heal the rarest of ailments. The problem was that it bloomed during the moonlight in the Crystalline Forest. It was a two month journey there and back. Lady Crystobelle told Calyx that Dante and his men would accompany Seraphina to retrieve the plants. Calyx promised to return a month before the dark season.

Its petals shimmered with an otherworldly iridescence, shifting between shades of silver and pale blue as if capturing the very essence of moonlight. Lilly's heart raced as she realised what she was looking at. Moon Roses, the legendary flower of the Moon Goddess herself, were only meant to bloom once in a lifetime, but now a second one had appeared in front of her. At least while she wasn’t in a trance at first, and this one was like the first one, not like the three that everyone thought might be some kind of countdown.

The talisman throbbed. The whispering stopped. The forest went still. And the ghost spoke. "The guardian returns." The voice resonated through the clearing. Low. Ancient. The wolves around Lyla shifted uneasily, but she stepped forward. The ghost’s eyes followed her. It inclined its head slightly. Not with submission. With recognition. "You know me," she said softly. The ghost nodded. "We know all who carry the bond. All who bleed for it. You bear the mark of the crescent."

I had no choice, so I dug through every gift Zoe had ever given me, but I found nothing. Just when I was about to give up, I shook a pillow, and a tiny paper figure floated out. Its face was drawn to resemble Lucas, and his birth details were written on the back! The fortune teller exclaimed, “That’s it! The lock and the paper figure work together, and since you've touched the lock, the effect on you is stronger. Luckily, you found it early.” I broke out in a cold sweat. They were midway across the path, in front of a cemetery when suddenly graves started opening. "What is going on?" Isabella asked, clutching onto Chris tightly. Chris was suddenly sweating so furiously but Ariel was cool and her face was blank and devoid of any emotions. They stood there watching six tombs open and six scary-looking ghosts walked out. Isabella was already whitish in appearance knowing who they are. Chris's hairs were all up and his eyes green, his normal sight nature. "GREETINGS TO THE SPECIAL ONE." One of them muttered. "GREETINGS TO THE LITTLE GODDESS." Another muttered.

I reached out and pressed the radio button on the steering wheel. My voice was cold, cutting through the static. "Mason Vale, do you see a ghost in your mirror?" I said coldly into the radio. Those words pierced straight through Mason's last line of composure. His car hesitated for an obvious instant on the straight. Now. I smashed the throttle down. The car tore through the air and pulled alongside him. Ahead was a chain of fast S-curves. Seeing that I was about to pass, a vicious look flashed through Mason's eyes.

I didn’t take my eyes off Lex. “Talk,” I said. Lex exhaled slowly, almost like he was bored. “Ghostshade grows in two nearly identical strains. One heals. One accelerates blood corruption. The difference is in the root coloration after harvest.” Maeve froze. “That’s not in any known record.” “No,” Lex agreed calmly. “Because most healers die before they can record it.” Silence hit the room like a physical force and my wolf surged hard beneath my skin, pressing against control I was barely maintaining.
