Herry turned around cautiously and instantly screamed, "Ghost!!!" They saw a "female ghost" standing behind them in a white outfit with long hair covering her face, which couldn't be seen clearly. Slowly, she lifted her head, her neck twisting, revealing a pale face with large eyes and blood trickling down. She reached out her hands and started approaching Emily and Herry. "Get away! Get away! Don't come to catch me! Catch her!" Herry was so scared that he lost his senses and pushed Emily towards the ghost before fleeing himself.

Then—movement. Behind her. A shadow. It moved too fast. Too low. My breath caught. “Ghost?” I whispered. I leaned closer to the glass. But Ghost was supposed to be patrolling the front side tonight. I’d heard him tell Luce. This wasn’t his route. He wasn’t supposed to be anywhere near the woods behind the cabin. Then who the hell was that? A hunter? A ghost? A memory? Or something darker, watching us sweat and fight and fuck from the trees?

I drifted along behind him, floating like a restless ghost all the way to the hospital, until I found myself in Alice's ward. There she was, lying on the hospital bed, her face pale and pitiful, as though she were the very picture of tragedy. But looking at her only brought a fresh wave of agony as I thought of my own child—a child fully formed, yet never given the chance to see this world. A human-shaped silhouette, darker than the darkness around it, slowly peeled itself out of the shadows. The figure was tall and slender—it was a woman's outline wrapped in an indistinct shroud of black mist. There was no wind, but it felt like the air had been sucked from the room in an instant. Then, an icy, emotionless voice rang out. It wasn't in my ears, but directly inside my head.

You watch too many movies.” He stepped aside but whispered as I passed, “Run while you still can. Only God knows who asked her to watch scary movies alone. It didn't take long, the power came back. Her room was still dark because the lights were switched off but the tv light lit so brightly. She flinched in fright, thanking her stars. The movie pops on the tv screen, it was the part where the evil witch with blood dripping down her mouth was walking slowly towards the woman, who kept on moving backwards with the help of her hands and butt. The witch walks until she is close to the woman, and then, she disappears only to appear behind her, stretch out her hands with long nasty bloody-looking fingers, and hold on to the woman's shoulder.

“That’s isn’t supposed to be your first question. What you should ask is why is a ghost appearing in the daylight?” I sucked in a breath and heaved. I was already having this gut feeling that this was going to be terrible news. “Ghost, what is your name?” “Irrelevant. My mission here is more important than that.” I kept a unreadable expression but with me I was smiling. He has a name, that narrows down the list I will use to find about who he is. “What did you come for?” “I know where the witch is.” My eyes widened. “You do? I mean… where?”
