The pain stung badly. Giordana pushed past me with hasty steps and some seconds later the sharp light reflected on my figure. I heard her footsteps approaching me until she stopped in my front. On seeing my face, a flash of recognition passed her eyes. She screamed again when her gaze wandered downwards. I followed her line of sight and was met with a view of the crimson liquid seeping from the wound. On lifting my head to stare at her, I saw a carving knife in her hand stained with blood.

Rock?” I ask, my normally slow heart rate skyrocketing into space. “No,” Toby grins. “Bones.” “Uhm, Dr. Scarlett?” I motion for Laney to shut up. I’ll apologize later. She shrinks back, pale, twiddling her fingers and glancing at the elevator to the surface while I approach Toby. “You’re sure?”

At the same time, Gideon and Pacino sprang into action, causing the three forces to clash and the glowing object to be tossed aside. As it landed, everyone could see it clearly. "A bone?" they exclaimed in surprise. They had anticipated discovering a rare treasure or a divine weapon, not a mere piece of bone. Upon closer inspection, it appeared to be a finger bone. It was as large as a palm and incomplete. It was evident that it couldn't belong to a human. It was clearly from a beast.
