Pains of Amara

Pains of Amara

"You know you are no longer a child. You are a grown up female. I did you well by raising you up isn't it?" I nodded my head. Why was he sounding this way. Where they planning on sending me out of the house? I glanced at aunty lydia and ogechi as they both eyed me. "You are of age and when a girl is of age, you know what comes next"my uncle said. It was like he was trying to look for the right words to pass a message across to me in a way that it wouldn't hurt me. "I don't understand uncle"i replied obviously confused.

A Fight For You (The Black Girl)

A Fight For You (The Black Girl)

Me: lovely dad My name is funny right, well it's an Igala name. From a tribe in Kogi State, Nigeria. My dad insisted we all bear our tribal names instead of English ones so that we would always remember our roots. My name Unugwa is actually a short form of Ojonugwa, which means God be praised. My friends here found it really hard to pronounce that long version, in fact when they gave it a try, it came out that they were pronouncing something else. So dad allowed me to short form it. That was when I was five years. I actually love the way they pronounce Unugwa. It's really classic I pecked my mom

GINI: The Wicked Saviour

GINI: The Wicked Saviour

And slowly, the other members of the council walked away. Bola gnashed his teeth and walked to the opposite end of the circle. He saw a dried log on the sand and sat on it, not knowing what to do next. ‘The Boy is not worth saving.’ Bola grumbled and shifted his weight on the log he had been seating on. He could almost see the face of Pa Uche, as his beards dances under his jaw bone, when he speaks. How could he say he was Ginika’s uncle when he doesn’t care if the boy lived or died?

Raven the lurker
I have gotten used to read female lead stories from her so this time when it is male lead it's quite a refreshing and interesting change up. The start is promising and very well written and it's not the typical type of a novel so give it a chance as this author never ceases from surprising you.

My Fiancé’s Uncle is Obsessed With Me

My Fiancé’s Uncle is Obsessed With Me

“What? Did I say something wrong? I didn’t mean that I wanted to be a part of their life—if you think that’s too fast or— Eveline tried to fight the tears, but she was smiling hard too, so hard her cheeks hurt. “It’s not that,” she said between sniffles. “I’m just—I’m just glad that my baby’s going to have another uncle. That’s all.” “Oh.” She nodded. “Yeah.” Peter squeezed her hand. “Not just any uncle,” he declared, but the coolest uncle ever.” She smiled. “The jury’s out on that one too.” “Then I’ll just have to bribe them with the best toys ever,” Peter said, laughing.

Parabatai
From the first chapter of the book I knew it was gonna be interesting but the book is more than interesting. New suspense from every chapter. Just few chapters in and not regretting it. The book is so good.
