I could see he was both shocked and concerned. “I'm fine,” I murmured, even though I wasn't certain. “Just a bad dream, I guess. But this…” I raised my hands, where the last bits of blue light were disappearing. “I have no idea what this is.” Before Xander could respond, Lily entered, holding a big, leather-covered book. The book had the smell of old paper and magic. “I felt a disturbance,” lily said, her eyes darting between Xander and me. “And then I was drawn to this book in the library. I think… I think it might have answers about the awakening.”

~~~*~~~ Lily had only been to Aaron's manor a handful of times, yet, it felt like a second home as she stepped in. After a quick greeting with Aurora, Aaron took her by the hand and led her towards a room opposite his. The creak of the door as it opened led into what Lily could only describe as a heaven of beauty. At the center of the room was a huge circular bed, draped in a red silk blanket. Behind it was a shelf housing the first set of stained glasses. Blue, green, black, gold and red stood beside each other decorated by different things in their own beauty. Flowers, paints, birds and some cracks created to form a certain pattern.

As we strolled along, I was delighted to discover a dedicated haven for my favorite flower, lilies! An entire section of the garden was devoted to showcasing a stunning variety of lilies, their elegant blooms swaying gently in the breeze. I was in absolute heaven! We came to a delicate opening with a silver bench in the middle of it and we sat down. Raphael snapped his fingers and produced the book I was reading.

Now for her little maid, it would be hard to carry that body. "Clean the kitchen." He ordered and pulled her unconscious figure by her uninjured hand. He started pulling her to the end of the kitchen making her back scratched due to the friction. Lily looked more horrified seeing his behavior. How could a man drag a woman's body like a corpse? She regretted her decision of not carrying the unlucky girl's petite to her room. She pursed her lips but wanted to ask badly if he was going to drag her through the stairs also. Luckily she didn't get the chance to see those brutalities as she started cleaning the kitchen.

This time, she had no trouble finding one of the numerous daggers that were stacked at the bottom. She was careful to choose one without silver. With her current luck, she’d probably stab herself. And big enough to put a nice-sized hole in an enemy, she tightly gripped the handle and headed out of the private rooms.

I felt the absence like a cold place in the room. “Where’s Lyra?” Caleb asked without looking up. “I don’t think she’ll be joining us,” I replied, breathless. “We can wait,” Lily said. She didn’t look up from the book she held. Her voice was steady but tight. “But we don’t have time to dawdle.” Lily set the book down like it was a live thing. The cover was cracked, the pages browned and smelling of dust and old rain. When she opened it, the two of us leaned in, the others forming a loose semicircle behind.
