Strays

“Will there be a second date, though?” Emma shrugged. “We’ll see.” She looked at him. “So what do you have for me case-wise?” Camille rushed to the shelter, carrying Emily. There was a long line of people waiting outside. She swallowed, fearing she may not get a room. It wasn’t long until she was proven right as the doors were closed. She sighed and walked away with her daughter. Typically, they would find a semi-private place to sleep in, but she never felt safe those nights. She thought about it for a moment and realized she didn’t feel safe most nights. She reached into her pocket and pulled out the address she’d been given. All her upbringing had taught her not to trust strangers, but sh

Letting Him Go

Letting Him Go

“We can talk about the rest later.” “The rest?” I echoed. “There’s more,” he said lightly. “And you’re not ready for it.” My heart skipped. “What does that mean?” He shook his head. “Later.” I wanted to push. But I didn’t. Not now. "So what happens now?" I asked him. “We can either go down stares to face all those people in the reception hall … or we can sneak out and go back to my penthouse.” Hayes answered. Without hesitation I answered. “Penthouse.”

Mom, I'm Sorry… I Just Wanted to Go Home

Mom, I'm Sorry… I Just Wanted to Go Home

I can't do it! She saved the last bundle for last. Inside lay a neatly folded piece of paper—the deed to our old house. She said with a hint of guilt, "Your little brother is just five years old, and your parents already bought him a house in the city. I can't afford a big city home, but this old place will shelter you from the wind and rain. "If you ever feel wronged or hurt, you can come back here. And if you miss me, go to the grave at the east end of the village and talk to me—I'll hear you."

Finding Home In Him

Finding Home In Him

Something about the way he says things hits a part of me that I've buried deep. The abrupt ringing of my phone pulls me back to the present. Adrianna sent you a message. "Jackson Stroud. 28 years old. His family cut him off after he came out. Living in an apartment with affordable rent. No more family ties. "Desperate." I stare at the screen for a long time, thinking about it. The weight of his predicament sinks in, and for some reason, it feels more genuine than I want to admit. I take a big breath and make up my mind.

Night Kisser

Night Kisser

" the MC presented. Then the lights went out and the group commended and yelled when they heard their band. Different lights gradually turned on, as though moving to the music of the band. "I'm going under and this time I dread there's nobody to save me, This go big or go home truly got an approach to making me insane. I really want someone to mend, someone to be aware, Somebody to have, someone to hold, It's not difficult to say, yet all the same it's rarely something very similar. I surmise loved the manner in which you desensitized all the torment.

When I Went Home

When I Went Home

You bear direct responsibility. He sighed and placed both hands on my shoulders. "I saw that you bought a plane ticket. "But I don't have time to go home with you. "Take this chance to go back for a few days, all right?" I shook off his hands. "Who said I wanted you to go with me? I'm going home because..." He sneered. "Because you're going home to be matched with someone and get married? "Stop threatening me with that. Hannah already told me your village doesn't have any rule that women must go home and marry at thirty."

Don't Come Home

Don't Come Home

"I want Daddy to come home! I don't care! I want you to bring Daddy home! If you don't, I won't love you anymore!" A chill spread through my entire body. I sat down on the bed, forcing myself to stay calm, and asked softly, "What else did Grandma and Aunt Amelia tell you?"

BITTERSWEET MEMORIES

BITTERSWEET MEMORIES

Turn away and slam the door I don't care what they're going to say Let the storm rage on The cold never bothered me anyway It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all It's time to see what I can do To test the limits and break through No right, no wrong, no rules for me I'm free Let it go, let it go We alternate in singing the verses of the song and in no time we get home. I pack my car in my garage and open the backseat door for Brandon to get out.

Trapped Between Two Alphas

Trapped Between Two Alphas

Music plays in the background, a song I have never heard before; I listen to the words, 'No more doubt about it I wanna take you home Take off your blindfold And show you what I am I wanna take you home And find some new joy and In this autopilot life I wanna take you home Slow down your heartbeat And dry those glazing eyes I wanna take you home Black out our windows And hold you till we die What if the first step was leaving And stepping outside in the cold, end Facing the smoke and you’re lurching Down the alleys, kiss me And how many lives lived in fear now And who do we call in the end, end There was a pattern of errors

Am I the only thinking there's something weird going on with Elijah and his behavior? I think Tamara had used her gift and is somehow manipulating/controlling these random hateful bouts he has. Either that or he has been really good at hiding this side of himself and needs to lose his title for good

Just my wondering how can you call this trap between Alpha‘s when going into book two Elijah is no longer mentioned? what I’m reading, she is with Cole and Caden doesn’t appear to be an alpha? When I first started reading it based on the title I was expecting Elijah Kol and Kat to end up together.
