Those small slivers shining through the storm must’ve been enough, because when I turned my eyes downward, I found myself looking at a blade of golden light.
It wasn’t as large as Helios’s sword but was the length of a simple dagger. While it was gold in color, it was nothing like my warriors gilded armor. This blade was plucked from the sky, drawn from the sun itself and molded by magic. As tears filled my eyes, my heart lifting as it was filled with a sense of peace I’d only dreamed of feeling, the blade’s light flickered and danced.
‘Hello, old friend. It’s taken you long enough to find me again.’ It seemed to say.
