Now, that's a question I'm unable to find an answer for. "Fuck.... Ah!"

He has a scowl which is normally there, when he isn't scowling he's laughing. "You alright there bud?" I ask trying to break the awkward silence. I retract my hand from the window and roll it up. "Yeah I'm fine... Why?" His face twists into a laughable meme. Like he ate a million lemons and the caption is, Bitch dafuq? (Bitch the fuck?!) "I don't know felt right to ask, you looked like someone murdered your puppy," I shrug not entirely knowing what to say. And considering that I lack communication skills, I'm doing quite well. But I'm pretty sure my social battery is now half empty.

So I pulled out my phone again, this time scrolling through my saved folder labeled “EMERGENCY GIGGLES.” I found a meme I knew would work. A sketchy cartoon cat trying to play a grand piano with arms that were way too short. It was dumb. Like, impressively dumb. “Look at this,” I said, turning the screen toward him. He glanced at it. Blinked. Then let out a snort. “That’s so stupid,” he said. “But you smiled.” “No, I didn’t.” “You totally did.” He rolled his eyes, took a long sip of juice, then bumped his shoulder into mine. “Okay. Maybe I did.”
