Thrill of the Chase

Thrill of the Chase

"Way ahead of you, babe." Too fatigued to entertain the idea of shoplifting at the moment—and recognizing that neither of us will yield when it comes to paying—we decide to split the bill evenly as soon as we reach the checkout lane, dividing the cost of groceries to $18.56 each. We settle the bill and, after a brief intimate encounter in Max's car—why not?—we return to his place, opting to watch "Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid" as the first film of our 'N*****x and Chill' marathon for the night. "Damn. Why is it always the minority that ends up getting killed off first?" Max comments as a hefty anaconda emerges from the water and swallows Dr. Ben Douglas whole.

Murderer

Murderer

These actions cannot be explained, Navpreet,’ said the inspector gloomily, casting an eye on the mountains. The sub-inspector gave a stiff nod and carefully studied the inspector who seemed to be lost in contemplation. ‘From what I have seen, murders are of two types,’ said the inspector, the tips of his fingers coming together. ‘First are the unplanned ones, committed by people who were suffocated in some way by the acts of the would-be victims. When they see an opportunity, their fear is eclipsed by the pain they have suffered and they strike.’

The CEO's Thief

The CEO's Thief

Feeling the wetness that was building up. I never felt this with Elvis, was that saying something? ”Tell you what,” he said and raised his head from looking in my bag. ”You do this job for me-no questions asked- or I take you and your bag to the cops.” I gulped, feeling worry stir in the pit of my stomach. The cops. They could choose to tie a lot of thefts to me. ”So, sweetheart,” he said, stepping closer once more.”What will it be?” * * *

Forbidden Thirst

That’s how she survived. The hitman was already waiting in the abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city. Their meeting spot. The place smelled of dust, engine oil, and secrets too dark to say out loud. She didn’t flinch walking into the cold shadows. If anything, she welcomed the chill that settled over her shoulders like an old friend. Dillon would now be her second victim. Another foolish soul falling by her hand, all for her one and only, Hunter.

His Deadly Obsession

His Deadly Obsession

Francisco proclaimed, his threats hanging in the air like an ominous cloud. "If you take me as a psycho, then I will be turned into a psycho for you," he added, his words leaving an indelible mark on Hazel's consciousness. The weight of Francisco's threats lingered as Hazel quickly moved out of the room. The chamber, witness to the clash of wills and the echoes of defiance, held the residue of their confrontation. Our car swerved violently. “Get down!” the guard yelled. Gunshots rang out. I ducked down as the side window shattered. Glass flew everywhere. The guard tried to reach for his gun, but another round of bullets hit the car. Everything was moving too fast. I couldn’t think. I couldn’t breathe. Another loud gunshot rang out, much closer this time. Then everything turned dark.

After the Cheating and Thrill-Seeking

After the Cheating and Thrill-Seeking

"Oh please. You wouldn't dare hurt me. If anything happened to this, you'd lose your happiness." Adrian stood frozen, a look of disbelief spreading across his face. Hearing about it was one thing. Watching Lacey cheat with his own eyes—that pain was something no one else could ever truly understand. "Okay, hurry up. Adrian is waiting for me to come back." "Not yet. I'm not done having fun." Adrian had never seen Lacey act so wanton with anyone else. He couldn't bear to watch any longer. He turned and walked away. Overwhelmed, his foot slipped, and he tumbled down the mountainside. Fortunately, his reflexes kicked in, and he grabbed hold of a vine.

She gives herself to me body and soul. I walk into the gym, and I turn the lights on to find Chase already there, he is running on the treadmill, and his eyes are silver grey. I try to link with him, but he’s impenetrable. He’s gone to his dark place, a dark corner in his mind I am not allowed to invade. We both have a dark corner, it is our safe haven, and I am not getting him out there. Both his fangs are out, and he is running faster than humanly possible.

Her Deadly Revenge

He was planning to kill them. "I don't give a fuck how you act, Der. I need my girl. She's missing. We still haven't found that guy from the stage. Jordon said he was the only one unaccounted for, but this place has a lot of hiding places. That asshole could be lying. Danielle and Casey are defending him, but I don't trust any of those fuckers." Thomas said. Snake aimed the gun forward as he moved toward the door. Wrong move, asshole. Ignoring the burning in my back, I rolled off the bed to my feet.

I really got sucked into this book. It was very good. It has nothing to do with wolves, like the blurb above says. It's more like an end of the world type book. Wasn't something I normally read, but I'm glad I did.
Sabrina
The blurb and the title don’t match this book. The story is about a zombie apocalypse, a bunch of strangers that meet and their relationships that develop throughout. I thought the ending was good, but I would love to read a sequel for some much needed closure. Overall, it’s a really good book.
