I spun around, trying to trace this…strange scent and make sense to why it brought this rush of excitement to my body and goosebumps up my skin. When my eyes caught the quick movement in the bushes again, I was just about to call out to it before a hand forcefully grabbed me, pushing down large fingers over my mouth right before any sound could escape. “Make a sound, sweet heart, and I’ll do the honors of ripping out your throat.” The man with a very foul stench grated into my ears. Every nerve in my body froze and my heart crashed painfully to the ground, sending a horrifying wave of panic through me. What the hell was going on?

Goosebumps appeared on Xu Yi’s skin after hearing what he said. Her hand froze, chopsticks still in her grip. She lowered her head to look at her food. She felt a gust of cold air on the back of her neck, but she did not dare to move. “Hurry up and eat. The food is getting cold.” The top of her head felt warm and she could feel her scalp getting numb. That perverted man must be hovering over her. How could she eat when she was being stared at by a devil?

His behaviour was nothing short of infuriating, and that aspect of his behaviour grated on my nerves. My gaze remained fixed on the windshield, my mind racing with questions about our destination now that we were leaving the pack house behind. However, my attention was abruptly diverted by something that caught my eye swiftly. Though I hadn't seen it clearly, the sight triggered a surge of fear within me. "What was that?" I questioned, my voice trembling with terror. Goosebumps prickled across my skin, my eyes widening as I involuntarily took a deep breath, attempting to calm myself down.

I looked up and my heart skipped a beat. “What – what was that?” I whispered to myself and my mind answered to me while taking me back to the thing happened on the Mile road when I was coming to the party. That growl sounded same as the one I heard on that road. It was scary and creepy. The growling began to grow making me skip more beats and I gulped. At that instant, something moved behind the bushes. My hands and legs began to shake like a leaf while my heart began to race. I could feel my death coming towards me as those bushes swayed. I began to move backwards when the thing behind the bushes jumped up and I screamed to the top of my lungs…

It was dark. It was empty. My eyes wandered everywhere only to find darkness and nothing else. I felt goosebumps prickle all around my body. Thud. I jumped as the voice came from my left. With my eyes wide, I stayed rooted to my spot and felt a gust, sending chills to my body but it was not the wind. I noticed the shadow of the figure that ran past me, faster than any human being. Another terrifying sound echoed in my ears and I was about to pee in my short shorts. Growls. I didn’t need to second guess what it was. I gulped and forced my legs to move but they didn’t. My heartbeat accelerated and my knees started trembling beneath me.

I had goosebumps all over my body, as I was so scared down to my bone marrow and I knew something strange was happening around me. 'What exactly is happening and who could that be, could it be someone that knows me and why would that voice call me such a name?' All these questions were running through my mind, as I looked scared to the bones and sleep was never closed to my eyes with a lot of thoughts pondering through my head…

The memories of that fateful night flooded her mind, evoking a shiver that ran down her spine, causing goosebumps to rise on her skin. "What... What the hell are you doing here?" Ember managed to force the words out, attempting to portray a façade of bravery and defiance. Yet, her tone betrayed her true emotions, laced with a palpable fear that threatened to consume her. She desperately tried to maintain composure, but deep down, terror gnawed at her core. The mere thought of him sent chills down her spine, compelling her to let out a scream that had been building within her.

“Isabelle!” She spun round at the sound of her name, spoken in such a horrifying way. Her body started to cool immediately and goose bumps appeared on her arm. Not that she was even remotely aware of this. Her body had simply numbed. She was not a superstitious person but she did not think that it had sounded remotely human. She had seen enough horror movies with Gary (or not seen them, as the case may be, with her face driven into the crook of his arm, asking for him to tell her when the bad bit was away) to know that this was not a good scenario.

She urged And I did as I was told. I felt like Jimmy Neutron but instead of think think think think, It was listen listen listen listen Squeak! “I heard it!” I Bellow “Not so loud!” Gabi shushed me “It sounds like… A…” A mouse suddenly scurried past us “A mouse!!” Gabi screamed and jumped on me “Oh my..” I said Totally caught off guard. She’s afraid of a mouse? “Theo let’s get out of here now!” She barked as she clung to my shoulders for her dear life. Damn I knew she missed me, you were just dying to get your arms around me huh Gabi?

Soon, he tripped and fell clumsily on the rough path, his knees and hands stung with a sharp pain from where he fell as he scrambled in panic attempting to stand up. He hurriedly stood up, not minding the pain as he continued running away from the unknown danger which was quickly gaining on him. He felt the rush of a wind as a figure went past him stopping and turned to face him. Getting scared, he moved backwards. But the figure in front of him stretched out a bony hand reaching out to him. He wanted to run but he felt like he was paralyzed to the ground, spellbound by the terror that held him, fear taking over him as his soul was chilled at the sight of the horrific face in front of him.
