It seeped into my bones, a malevolence that made the shadows pulse around us, a dark heartbeat matching the fear clawing at my throat. The laughter enveloped us, a mocking reminder of our vulnerability. The air grew colder, causing the fine hairs on my arms to stand on end. I glanced over my shoulder, half-expecting to see something lurking just out of sight, suspended in the thick veil of darkness. Goosebumps cascaded over my skin as I imagined countless eyes watching us from the blackness, hungry and patient.

“Why are you not scared?” I swallowed. The proximity made me feel the immense evil that was emanating from him. Goosebumps spruced up on my arm and I felt my fingers beginning to tremble. His gaze dropped to my arm and a satisfied smile crossed his lips as he lightly touched the hairs on my arm with the tip of his finger. “That's right,” he said, “you should be scared.”

Fuschia looked at Laura and the knight with a strange look, then asked, “You guys… didn't hear it? The voice… it says for me to come,” "Hick!" Laura hiccuped. It was her body's natural response when she was nervous or scared or had goosebumps! Laura thought Fuschia wouldn't lie about something like this, especially in such a predicament. Everywhere around me was silent but I felt like someone was watching me and it made goosebumps appear on my skin. I rubbed my hands along the length of my arm to get rid of the goosebumps but they won’t go away. The eyes on me were creepy even though I could not see it or the person. It felt like something was crawling up my body and it was making me shudder in shock. I wondered why they only lit one when they knew I’m coming. My heartbeat started to become unsteady. I suddenly feel a cold air around me. Why am I having goosebumps? I took the torch from the handle. It slipped through my hands when I suddenly saw a scary man who had brazen fangs and blood red eyes.
