It was overwhelming, but in the end, I was just glad, relieved, that I wasn’t still stuck in the Underworld.
Because every time that I thought about that place, the hollow feeling inside my chest only seemed to worsen. Whenever that would happen, I'd look down at my wrist just to see that silver bracelet.
But every time, it wouldn't be there.
I left the Underworld. Why would that bracelet—a small, possibly imaginary trinket still be with me?
It belonged there just like I hadn’t. And I was glad it had disappeared.
"I'm surprised your mother isn't throwing a welcome back, Ava party," Zoe spoke up. She would've made it sound more sarcastic if it had been in the past.
