Violets and Ash
Anyone else and they’d lose them both.
Even as I stared ahead, I could see that Violet had been drained of color. Her skin was nearly translucent, her eyes so pale that if it weren’t for the ring of ash around her iris, they’d blend into the whites completely. Even her hair had lost it’s color, as though fear leeched away the golden undertone that kept the strands from being pure white.
Her eyes scoured my body, burning into my face with ice so cold that it felt hot.
