The Wrong Bride
The guard stepped forward impatiently.
“I have the number,” she said, pulling out her old phone. “I will give you the number. Please just stay calm.”
The guard took the number quickly. “Whose number is this?”
“The mother’s number” the grandmother said softly.
The guard walked away with the phone in hand, already calling the number. Another guard kept watch on the grandmother, preventing her from leaving.
Savior cried again. “Grandma, I want to go home.”
“I know,” she whispered, hugging her closer. “I know, child.”
