… Elena POV… I eagerly opened its pages. As I flipped through the pages, I saw countless diagrams and illustrations of mythical creatures, spells, and potions. I searched through the pages, searching for any hint of a cure for the sickness that plagued my village. The illustrations were detailed, but the writing was cryptic and difficult to decipher. As I reached the end of the book, I came upon a page unlike any other. It was an intricate drawing of a carved stone with strange designs etched into its surface. I gazed upon the picture, trying to make sense of its meaning.

Hair products were on the nightstand, while notebooks covered another table. His eye was drawn to a colorful drawing. As he approached the table, he saw that the notebook was full of drawings. Not just drawings—some kind of graphic novel? He began to flip through the notebook. He was hardly some graphic novel enthusiast—he hadn’t read a comic since he’d been a kid—but he could see talent in the drawings. The strokes of the pencil, the light and shadow, it all seemed to reflect Thea as a person. When he came to one passage, he even chuckled at the dialogue.

Not even a single try. “What does it say?” I asked, brows furrowing as I rubbed both of my palms to create warmth. The cold had been much cruel today ever since we arrived at the healer’s cabin. I encouraged myself to look at the drawings instead; the art style is pretty much gothic, if not ancient. It wasn’t inked. Hues of black and white were embedded on the golden brown pages of the material. I saw the graphics of a human and a werewolf. They were doing something strange… some sort of a ritual. Elliot did not flip the pages further so I ended up guessing that that was it.

“Exactly.” Liam leaned in again, his mouth close to my ear. “You lost the bet, princess. And we’re just getting started.” I tried to sound annoyed, but it came out softer than I meant. “You’re both impossible.” “Good thing you like impossible,” Jace said. Liam shifted, angling himself toward me. “We should keep this fair, though. Equal attention.” “Fair?” I repeated. He picked up a grape from the coffee table and held it to my lips. “Open.”

The details were stunning, so intricate and rich. Kiema gasped as she reached out a hand to trace the figures on the page. Lions, wolves, other big cats I couldn't name, dragons, rats or rodents, bears, tigers. Each was beautifully rendered. One of the pages was broken up into cells or frames. A man stood tall in the first frame. In the second, he appeared next to a tall spirit of some kind. The spirit joined with the man in the third frame. The man fell, his face distorted in agony as something pushed from his stomach. In the fifth frame, the man was partially beast, but his expression had changed from pain to pleasure. The last frame the man was gone, except for the shape of his eyes. The

Page after page -- each more shocking, intimate, and raw than the last. One page simply read: "Free Use Toy" With a drawing of the same girl sitting on a bed, wrists tied to her ankles, head tilted back, cum sketched across her chest, her expression... serene. The page after that? "Training Day One" A collar being locked around her throat. The same girl. Blank eyes. Tears streaking her cheeks. Andrew leaned back. He ran his hand through his hair, staring down at the sketchbook like it had bitten him. He shouldn't feel aroused.

As he walked to me, he continued reading through them, a small smile playing on his lips. I snatched them from him and opened it. My eyes scanned the first page, and then I started to actually search for errors. Finding none, I leaned back. “Who wrote this? Hilda?” Cain shook his head. “I have seen Hilda’s reports. They do not look like this. For one, Hilda has a thing against graphics and charts.” I flipped to the last two pages. There was a chart and a graph, coloured, that stood out from the rest of the black and white pages.

It looks like I’m laughing, blissfully happy. My heart slams against my ribs as I flip to the next page, this one a drawing of me from the waist up, a mischievous grin on my face and my long hair covering my bare breasts. I flip to the next one. And the next one. Pages upon pages of my face, my body. There must be a hundred of them. Every single sketch is me.

When I reached out to Marissa, she happened to be in need of money. I transferred double the amount she requested and said, "Keep the extra to use as needed. I'm hiring you to create a graphic novel for me. Do a good job of it." I sent her the plot that I stayed up all night crafting. Once she read the story outline, she texted me, "This is incredible! You're a genius! Why don't you consider turning it into a traditional novel instead?"
