Sadly, Amara only realized this when she stood atop the 160ft crane, overlooking the ground below. She wasn’t afraid of heights, but the mere thought of jumping into the air, with no safety net beneath her, was enough to scare her shitless. “Now, now,” The Sattar gently coaxed as he stepped in behind her, strapped in securely, just like she was. “There’s nothing to fear.” “We’re up 160ft, there’s everything to fear.”

The rain lashed against their terrified eyes as the realization of their catastrophic mistake hit them. Then, the merciless law of gravity violently reclaimed them. Their screams were instantaneous and primal, but they were instantly swallowed by the howling wind as they plummeted. Eight hundred feet of empty, freezing air waited below them. They fell through the darkness, their limbs flailing wildly, their expensive suits flapping like broken wings. They fell past the glittering, indifferent windows of the Blackwood Spire, a rain of tactical gear, silk ties, and broken ambitions, plummeting at terminal velocity toward the merciless, unforgiving concrete of the Chicago city streets.

It was definitely getting darker. Suddenly panic set in as Cara realized this was not just a hole. This was a grave! Her heart started to race. How? How had she managed to fall into a grave?! How was she ever going to get out? Cara was filled with panic. She had to get out.She began to scream for help. She screamed and dug at the walls of the grave. Tears poured from her eyes. She screamed and screamed for help. She suddenly realized that she was all alone. No one would hear her cries for help. She fell silent and her shoulders slumped as she gave up. She sat down and hugged her knees to her chest. She sat there crying for a while. She cried until there were no more tears to cry.

I wish I could've said I woke up before I plummeted to my death, but I didn't. I remained awake--if you could call it that, the entire horrific free fall. I fell through the air, gravity pulling me down without mercy. Stars danced around my eyes as I flipped, my eyes widening as I watched the vast ocean grow closer and closer. Fear and nausea swirled in my gut, my entire body tingling with that 'free-fall' feeling, the one where your stomach jumps and lodges itself somewhere it shouldn't be. The feeling you get on a roller coaster when you're speeding down a steep slope, the point where everyone puts their hands in the air and screams.

In 1983 a Mrs Carson of New York was laid out in our coffin, presumed dead of hear disease. As mourners watched, she suddenly sat up, alive as you or I. another person shouted with great urgency. I tried to turn around so that I could run toward the center of the set where the ground was stable, but the ground where I was standing suddenly broke apart. The edge of the cliff disappeared completely. I felt my body falling through the air as the world tilted. It was a terrifying feeling. I was falling very fast toward the sharp rocks below. I tried to scream, but I could not make any sound because the air was being pushed out of my lungs by the force of the fall and the sheer terror. I felt the cold wind rushing past my ears and the sight of the sky disappearing above me.

YRENE’S POV. The fear of being pushed without being ready swallowed me whole, and my heart was right in my mouth. The feeling of falling felt like all my insides were about to leave me. Reece was shouting in excitement while I screamed in fear holding onto him for all I was worth. I wanted to get to the end immediately, but the fall was excruciatingly slow.

"What do you really like about earthquake? Are you trying to collapse the whole school? "Wow, look at you getting all mad, besides I'm very sure this whole school is reenforced with magic, so I can't collapse it even if I tried" Scott said with a calm face. "So can you put me down now." He added. "Oh, I will put you down" Lily said mischievously. Using her power to throw Scott Scott fell from the air straight for the knife- covered area. Gasped filled the room. Time suddenly slowed down as I closed my eyes fearing the worst.

The mountain shrank below us. “We are too high!” I sobbed. “Put me down. I can’t. I am going to fall. Take me back!” Panic clawed at my throat. Heights had always scared me and this was falling through the sky while my body jiggled against a dragon’s claw. I cried harder. My fingers scrabbled at the warm scales.
