"Shut up! You had better pray that those ancient books have something written inside about the Green Crystal. Otherwise, you're a sinner among the giant wolves!" I closed my mouth. I did feel scared, even though I trusted Elizabeth. If she left with the green crystal from then on, all the giant wolves would lose their power and a thousand-year life span. In silence, my father and I took a kerosene lamp and searched the top floor of the library for books related to the Green Crystal. I found nothing, but my father seemed to have found something. After he finished reading the text in the ancient book, he dropped the kerosene lamp on the floor as if he was frightened by something.

"Take those eye contact lenses off." "Huh?" "Those blue eye contacts you're wearing. Take them off." I sighed. "Chloe..." "Take them off." I sighed again, a sign of giving in. Cursive, slanted writing was off to the side of each one.

I wandered aimlessly between the rows of shelves, the soft shuffle of my shoes the only sound I could hear. The quiet was nice. It gave me space to breathe, to think. Eventually, I found myself in front of the romance section. The spines of the books were a rainbow of colors, each one promising a different kind of love story. My fingers skimmed across the titles until they stopped on a green book with a particularly beautiful cover. I pulled the book from the shelf, feeling the weight of it in my hands. The cover was soft beneath my fingertips, almost velvety. It was stunning, the kind of book you’d want to display on a shelf just to admire. The title, "BE MINE," was written in elegant gold

I quickly got it out and sat on the bed to go through the book. There was a lot to see and read in here and I didn't have the time for that. I just need to find a herb that can help neutralize a poison, especially a poison that causes the veins to change from green to purple. I was in the middle of the book now, still scrolling through the pages, slightly beginning to lose hope as I haven't found anything that has to do with poison or how to neutralize it yet. You have got to be kidding me if I don't find anything useful in this book, that I could use to do something about the poison running through Gordon's veins right now.

Odessa stretched a hand on top of the book. "Here goes nothing." There was a burst of light, and Odessa's head reared back to the sky with so much force that Alaric feared she would break her neck. Her eyes were a radiant blue color, connecting her to the book and its contents.
