The fifth is a mix of colors—brown and white and a streak of something darker along its spine. The sixth is the smallest of the healthy ones, a pale cream color that catches the morning light. And then there's the first one. The fighter.

~Tate’s Point of View~ *Go, go go,* I yell, over mind-link. Colt pushes his paws into the earth hard, with all he’s got as he runs toward the fight. Undercover or not, our orders are always to protect the innocent. Protect life.

I just wish I got to ride her more often than I do. I rev the engine, smiling as I feel the powerful vibrations rumbling underneath me and I take off out of the garage. As I emerge from the false bright overheads of the garage into the darkness of predawn, I pop a wheelie then head for the pack gates. The orphan pups on their way to the packhouse for breakfast see me coming. They run to the edge of the road, waving, and laughing. I pop another wheelie to give them a thrill as I go by and they go wild, making me genuinely smile. I love pups and the ease of amusing them. I pick up speed as I near the front gate that is already sitting open for me. I accelerate again and peel out of the gate. M

My mom had been captured by rogues for the sole purpose of using and abusing the red wolf’s power, and Grey was determined that it would never happen again. ‘I can’t make any promises.’ Grey replied. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. My wolf was unique. Although mostly black, his paws and a stripe on his chest were a dark red color. The color was so dark it almost looked black, but when the sun shined off of it, you could see the red hue to it. Grey liked to joke that it made him more powerful. I was certain it made him more of a jackass.

I swear no matter the time I will come running, "she nods. Doc squirts the gel on her little round belly, and we wait. A fast heartbeat makes me smile. Looking at the screen, a pup is moving around, and I tear up. Patrick clears his throat a few times, and the warriors stand there smiling at us. A new pup to the pack is a big deal in Savage and I, for one, can't wait to meet him or her.

“What color are Patrick and Nick's wolves?” Creasing his brow, he looked at me questionably. “What does that matter?” Shrugging casually, I muttered that it was just a question. Turning away from me, Austin growled, “Patrick's wolf is gray, and Nick's is black like Nero.” My eyes widened as I gasped, then quickly covered my mouth. Gideon reappeared before us and exhaled deeply. Waiting for him to spill the beans, I was disappointed when he only asked us to accompany him.

Green answered. "I believe in you."

Patricks wolf was a darker shade of grey, three of his paws were white and the fourth was black, it was a rarity for a wolf to have more than three colors but all the men in Patricks' family had that genetic trade. His wolf was fast and strong, other than me Patrick was the strongest warrior in this pack. ‘You keeping up okay?’ I gloated through the mind-link. ‘Look behind you' I turned my head and looked behind me as I saw him soaring over me before landing with his front paws on Edon's back. ‘You’re getting better’ ‘You slowed down’ I smirked and continued running. I looked to my side only to see an Amber-colored wolf running beside us on the other side of some trees.

I looked up only to see Wolfe. He stepped in, holding something out toward me. “Here,” he said. “I think this fell from your bag.” I frowned slightly, glancing down. My heart skipped as I stared at the small, colorful bandage of Paw Patrol in his hand. Paw Patrol was Creed’s favorite and most of his belongings, if not all, have the character ingrained on it. My fingers closed around it quickly, almost instinctively. “Oh,” I said, forcing a small smile. “Thank you.”

She smiles at me “ Welcome, Alpha Luther.” They get back to Lexi’s chair and the two sit down with the last one. “ I picked this one just for you, Luna.” Patty said. This one had a greenish, blue icing with silver sprinkles on it. “ It reminds me of your wolf.” Patty said. “ Thank you very much. I have a favor to ask. You see I’m pretty full from dinner and don’t think I could eat the whole thing by myself. Will you share it with me?” Lexi asked. Lexi looks across the room at Patty’s mom “ If that is alright with you?” Patty looks over “ Can I mommy?” Patty’s mom nods.
