Few maids that were tending the rose bushes were startled as they saw the half naked man with bandages scramble his way outside. He was panting feverishly as he got to the main streets of the area. Blood had started to seep out from his bandaged body but he was too distracted to care. The road was empty, and his hope to meet Mr. Kaylus was nearly deflating.

Everything was in shambles, there were claw marks on the wall, shattered furniture, and blood stains. Worse of all, when I looked at my body, my clothes were stained with blood. "What happened?" I asked no one in particular. It wasn't until I wiped the blood from my mouth, that I realized what I had just done. My eyes found Grim who lay on the floor, mangled and covered in blood. He wasn't breathing. He wasn't moving. His eyes stared unblinking at the ceiling. Grim was dead.

“The bastard with the knife.” The world tilted. Her knees nearly buckled again, but this time it wasn’t from weakness. It was from the flood of fire rushing up through her chest. The man who stabbed Rhett. Who nearly stole him from her. He lifted his head, dazed, and his swollen eye caught hers. A smirk curled his busted lip, even through the blood. Emily’s body went rigid. ________________ Grim stepped out from the trauma bay, his hands still stained with Rhett’s blood. He cut a look at the prisoner, his jaw clenched, his voice low and dangerous. “Get him outside. We’ll finish this where walls don’t echo.”
