The Last Howl
SCREEECH.
His long, black claws dragged against the porch floorboards right outside the main door. He stopped. A low, vibrating growl rumbled deep within his chest, rattling the glass panes in their frames. He was sniffing the seam of the door frame, right where Denzel had killed the first zombie.
I reached the pillar. I stretched my arm upward, my fingers trembling violently. I reached for the brass ring, carefully sliding my index finger through the metal loop.
Don't clink. Please, gods, don't let the keys jingle.
