The Goddess wrapped her hand around hers, her sharp and black nails quickly sinking into Diana's skin like tiny blades, drawing blood. Diana let out a pained mewl, eyes widening with alarm.

A fat tongue slides out of his mouth, spewing hot spit onto the floor. His eyes stay focused on me as he hugs the wolfed female slightly above her waist.

Their jagged limbs glistened with what looked like blackened steel, and their roars shook the earth. "These are the Jagganighs," a voice narrated, distant yet clear. "Ruthless celestial entities who sought to destroy the earth. Even the Great Gods could not face them alone." The scene shifted, and I saw humans—ordinary men and women—standing before the gods. Fear and uncertainty marked their faces as the gods spoke to them. "They asked for a catalyst," the voice continued, "a human pure of heart and mind, who could channel their energy to the mortal realm. But no one came forth with joy."

Hades jumped, shifting into his wolf mid air, his black fur glittering under the low moon. His wolf was twice the size of Alec, towering over his wolf, his dominance pinning down Alec’s core; Alex was a wolf, he couldn’t escape the intensity of the presence of Hades’ Alpha wolf.

When she opened her eyes again, she was back to normal.
