J The miniature ghost stood defiant, hands on hips, with a fire in the deep brown eyes peering through the sheet holes that would have given most larger beings pause. But where the frayed sheet ended, a pair of long, gangly legs wearing pink “Hello Kitty” socks and blue thrift-shop sneakers comically softened the spirit’s fierce glare. “I wore this at Halloween when I was, like, ten,” sulked the irate specter. An elderly black woman with close-cropped curly white hair sighed in response as she looked down at her adopted granddaughter. “Jeannine LaRue, you’re the one who begged me to have a costume party for your birthday in the middle of summer, Lord have mercy.”

my voice came out as a roar, enough to slice through the curling pheromone and send jolts of shock through the soldiers’ body. They jerked, slowly catching on to what they were doing. They simultaneously turned and saw me, before they sprung to their feet, fear registering on their faces. “Who gave you the permission to touch her?” I asked, and took a step forward. They all bowed their heads, shaking violently. The scent hit me again, stronger this time, as if targeting me alone. If this continued, I didn't know how long till I succumbed. I needed to get her to the witch doctor.

I'd taken countless forms of transport and walked miles, suppressing my fear while passing through a forest to get to him. However, all I'd gotten in return was a local telling me there wasn't any ancient tomb in the vicinity. All there was was a professor by the surname of Gray preparing for a traditional wedding at the old settlement with his lover. The preparations had started half a year ago.

Ellie asked, a memory on the cusp of her thoughts as she tried to focus on why it was familiar. "Yeah, you know how you said you saw a Fate with a long, flowing red dress at the Feast of the Fates? Well, the Feast of the Fates supposedly ends at Halloween, it's the culmination of all of the Fates celebrating another year of their people. The mother of the fates is the woman in the red dress. That's why it's a red moon, the moon becomes a reflection of the mother and when the feast ends, the fates decide how the next year will go. So, big changes always happen at Halloween," Sam said as she glanced behind her to make sure Ellie had heard her explanation.

[Belladonna's Point of View] People say that November is when spirits come back to the world to meet their loved ones. I don't believe in ghosts. If there were any, I guess mom and aunt Melinda would haunt me right at this very moment. To be honest, ghosts aren't scary at all. Humans are a lot scarier, living life like dead people. I'm looking for an outfit to wear because Jameson asked me to a Halloween party tonight. I guess we'll go trick or treating to different homes just like what chocolate-faced kids do.

Until now, strange short stories had only very short stories. But from volume two I intend to add stories that have 10 to 20 captains as well. These stories are not so long nor have so much visibility as a separated book. For this reason, I decided to move all then into strange short stories, that is already a storybook of different themes.

There was one solitary, big book on a low table between them. "The title of the tale is The Binding of Autumn," he began, his voice an entrancing whisper just in harmony with the shriek of the fire. “It's the tale of a harvest god who offers a mortal woman a choice: one night of absolute freedom for one year of unimaginable riches for her people." He didn't move as his eyes met hers. "The consent is the matter at hand. It must be freely bestowed, not coerced, and whispered three times into the skin of his throat." “Do you have any idea what sort of story you're going to be reading me tonight?”

I'm certain if he could hear my thoughts, he would have sentenced me to death. Halloween was here, and I was in my room, dressing up as a spider. I had bought my costume a few days ago, while Sam dressed up as a Necromancer. We both went to the school and saw different people in scary costumes. I could feel it was going to be a scary night. I saw Tasha and went to hug her, she dressed as Harley Quinn and it really suited her. A few minutes after everyone had different conversations and complimented each other's costume, a guy stepped up.

Now let's talk about my other books. Nightmare Land is not changing, but I am re-editing the first 18 chapters, which I will try to finish as soon as I can. Again, I will try to get the re-edits out with a new chapter, so just bear with me. Not only that, but I'm trying to add on a new book called Dark Tales of the Alive Undead. I have received no response about that either, but I'm waiting for an entire week to see if my editor will respond. I know they say to wait a whole month for new books, but this is also about my other books.
