Rising from the Ashes

Rising from the Ashes

His eyes swept the room and landed on Chantelle, and they immediately lit up with interest. "You must be Ms. Chantelle Garcia, Governor McCormick's secretary, right? I'm Special Ops Agent Hank Armstrong, code name 1414. I'll need your full cooperation for the upcoming work!" He stepped forward, reaching out eagerly for a handshake. Chantelle frowned slightly before reluctantly shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you." Hank smiled. "From what I can see, these poisoned patients won't be ready for questioning until tomorrow. So, I'm free for the night. Ms. Garcia, how about dinner tonight? We can discuss work."

Reynir Kjartansson
Very good story and the ending was relatively good since each part of the story give a obvious closure. The audio book is also available the whole story. Other authors should follow this example. There is nothing worse than a forced ending or a cut off story, so this story gets all stars, great job!

The Billionaire Alpha's Revenge

The Billionaire Alpha's Revenge

It stood in the egg chamber, briefcase in hand, equation-spectacles adjusting to the pink light from Haley's Anchor glow. It was real. Not conceptually real, not metaphorically real, not informationally real. Physically, tangibly, undeniably real. Five feet of ancient accountability standing on crystallized time in a grey probability suit and carrying a briefcase full of nine billion years of findings. Marcus raised his shield. I APPRECIATE THE PRECAUTION, the auditor said, glancing at Marcus with what might have been professional respect. BUT I AM NOT HERE TO FIGHT. I AM HERE TO REVIEW.

X-HABIT

X-HABIT

The large lonely mansion which oozed nothing but affluence did not only house these money making halls but also had rooms above which caged workers who made this money and the bosses who ruled over them. The workers were members of X-habit, a crime conglomerate whose activities were no lesser than running guns, doing drugs and the like. The Big Four: Steven Chase, Baron Sage, Iphan Carter and Kane Richmond bossed over the conglomerate, with Steven as the head, more of a Godfather.

Alpha Xavier

Alpha Xavier

Hunter: The road in was long and dumb quiet, the kind of quiet that tells you everything worth knowing has gone to ground. I kept the bike under the trees and moved on foot, boots chewing at the moss. Xavier’s words looped in my head: Find her before he does. Short, sharp, no room for mistakes. “Beta, are you sure that coming here is the right option?” One of the gammas, Brian, asked. “Are you going to question the Alpha, Brian?” I asked, and he shook his head.

Hands Off My Apartment

Hands Off My Apartment

It also proved Hank was involved in fraud and embezzlement. Zoe had left herself a way out. She was afraid Hank would turn on her, so she secretly recorded the conversation. With that recording, everything changed. Christine immediately contacted the financial crimes unit. The police raided Hank's company. Inside the safe in his office, the police found Westfield Capital's internal accounts. In it, it clearly showed where the $1 million went. Every cent had ended up in Hank's personal account. Hank was arrested. The next day after the news broke, Bertha came to the apartment I was renting and begged outside.

THE CEO ALREADY KNEW

THE CEO ALREADY KNEW

"Hana gets like that sometimes — recalibrates everything. Probably nothing." Hana. Celeste's executive assistant. I have met her twice, briefly, and both times I came away with the impression of someone who misses nothing and says even less. In most organizations, an executive assistant is support staff. In organizations like this one, they are gatekeepers, intelligence officers, and sometimes the most powerful people in the building. "Hana requested the audit?" I ask carefully. "Ms. Laurent requested it. Hana implemented it." Priya sets down her mug and stretches her arms above her head, a gesture of casual exhaustion. "Either way, it's done. They changed some of the overnight rotation timi

I Got A Broom As My Year-End Bonus

I Got A Broom As My Year-End Bonus

Hank continued, “The original colleagues from the administration department can participate in the new round of interviews. You may stay after you pass all the assessments. For those of you who can’t pass…” He glanced at me. “The company will compensate you based on employment law. Of course, you can immediately receive the compensation and leave if you wish to.” Sam cursed softly next to me. Autumn’s face turned pale. Hank then said, “But there is an important audit happening next month for an important client. Before the audit is over, I hope everyone will cooperate in their respective work and handover. “Besides,” he said, suddenly sounding cold. “Some people may think that they can just

Married my Ex-husband's Elder Brother!

Married my Ex-husband's Elder Brother!

"Before I took over Ray, I had my own auditing company, Trust Financials. It was supposed to be merged along with Ray yesterday but I cancelled it at the last minute and changed all of the names in the document to yours." Hank frowns. "What do you mean?" "I'm giving this to you." "Me? Why?" Ivy looks at him with that ice stare again. "Because you, Hank Williams, know the whereabouts of my husband." She states without hesitation and confidence. Coming here only further enhanced that suspicion. That night, most of the men had been using masks and the only ones she remembers seeing, she's seeing them while walking down the hall of the police station while walking up to Hank's office.

Mr. CEO Wants Me

Mr. CEO Wants Me

I needed to tell Nick about the theft, but first, I had to face the day’s demands. As I sat, Hannah appeared, her sketchpad under her arm, her expression frazzled. “Tracy, thank God you’re here,” she said, pulling up a chair. “Mr. Lawrence just dropped a bomb. He wants a full campaign audit by tomorrow, not Monday. Says the board’s breathing down his neck about ‘glitches.’ You got a minute to help me prioritize?”

The Wolf’s Bride

The Wolf’s Bride

“Ms. Houser, don’t worry. Even if God is here, he will have to give you back the ID and certs and process your resignation. A puny guy like Sean Knight won’t be able to do anything.” Snow somehow felt relieved after listening to Noir. Andrius pulled out a cigarette and started smoking on the couch with his legs crossed. Noir also seated Snow beside them. The three of them sat down casually as if they owned the place. Hank was furious at their frivolous attitude. He narrowed his eyes and bellowed, “Punk, you keep this up, and you will know what color your blood is later!” Andrius and company ignored Hank altogether. Eight minutes had passed.
