The mansion itself was a gothic masterpiece.
“This is where you live?” I whispered, pressing my face against the tinted window.
“This is where we live.” He corrected. “Get used to it.” His voice was icy cold.
The car stopped, and a butler, an old man with white gloves and a stoic expression, opened the door.
“Welcome home, Luna.” He said. “I am Harrison, and I manage the household.”
“Thank you, Harrison.” I said, stepping out, trying not to fall with the bleeding heels still in my feet, as they sank into the gravel.
