“And what if I do it again?” Ethan murmured, tilting his head just slightly, his lips brushing the corner of mine without actually kissing me. “What happens then?”
My jaw tightened. “Ethan…”
“Ryan.”
I hated him. I loved him. Now, where the hatred came from was that, I hated that I was starting to love him.
My heartbeat was in my throat and he knew it. That was the annoying part — the way he always knew.
I glared at him, or at least I tried to, but it came out more like a flustered puppy baring its teeth. He only smirked deeper, brushing his thumb along my waistline like he was drawing circles straight on my nerves.
