His face had become pale as death. I could barely breathe. The voice continued. "Ten thousand years." A pause. Then another laugh. "Did you really think that would be enough?" The abyss moved. Not the creature. The abyss itself. The darkness twisted. Shifted. Flowed like liquid. Then two enormous shapes appeared within it. Eyes. My heart nearly stopped. Eyes larger than buildings. Eyes glowing with molten gold. They opened slowly. Watching. Studying. Awakening. The underground city suddenly felt very small.

Abigail said angrily. “Lady Grace, that’s because your magic can’t withstand mine,” the man said as he appeared in Abigail’s spot. He snapped his fingers, making her land on the ground facing him. He wrapped his hand around her waist as he pulled her closer to him. Abigail raised her head and met his silvery eyes. They were the same eyes that she saw in her dreams again and again. She felt like the world stopped around them. His eyes were sucking her soul making her get lost in the endless pit of his silver fire. His eyes were the flight of the dove in the cloud-filtered post-storm light. Before she could say something he cleared his throat at her.

She argued that with vampirism, witchcraft, and senses of werewolves combined, we will be indestructible. “Niklaus was made with witch powers! Powerful with powers at that! And you think a bite from him would produce the same results?” Lucianna screamed once again, seeking for the attention to be diverted to her. Her breaths were heavy and sharp, panting and almost begging for the last of it.

Free from its ancient shell, the monstrous, pale horror began to climb up the iron support chains directly toward our ledge, its green eyes burning with an unholy hunger, its calcified jaw unhinging to reveal rows of jagged, iron-hard teeth. And directly behind it, rising from the deepest trench of the abyss, came a second set of glowing emerald eyes.

Lyra couldn't feel the stone beneath her boots anymore, yet she could see right through it—the floor had turned glass-clear, revealing a bottomless abyss stretching out beneath the vault. Two enormous eyes drifted upward through the dark, cold and ancient enough to predate the mountain overhead. They belonged to no beast she recognized, nor any human soul. Her fingers tightened instinctively around the jagged piece of black metal in her palm. The First Nail radiated a low, organic heat, pulsing like a living pulse beneath her grip rather than cooling in the draft.

Her voice cut off with a gurgle as the doors slammed shut, sealed over with a crust of living black ice. The room turned freezing in a breath. The fire did not go out — its flames withered, shifting from gold to a dying, bruised violet, frozen in place and giving off no heat at all. From the drains, the cracks between the stones, the grout of the walls — the Abyss began to pour. Six shadow‑things rose from the spreading mire: faceless, hunched shapes draped in rotting kelp, claws of sharpened coral glinting like butcher’s knives.

“Lady Vastria, calm down.” Vastria was breathing heavily as she looked ahead. It was dark, but she could hear it. The shredding of flesh, bones breaking, the sloshing of wet blood upon flesh. She tried to make out the scene, but it was too dark. She closed her eyes and concentrated. She forced her eyes to see within the dark. Her eyes glowed silvery red as she opened them slowly. Her breath caught in her throat at the sight before her. Elcid beside her whispered in her ear. “What do you see?”

"I am the one who remembers the first time the Shadow-King was defeated. And I am the one who knows why the child was born with two different eyes." She looked at me, her gaze piercing through the golden light. "The emerald eye sees the world of the sun. But the crimson eye? That eye sees the path into the Abyss. And that is where you must go, Darlene, if you want to kill a god." I looked at my son, then at the shadow-army closing in on our gates. The war for the mountain was over. The war for the universe had just begun. "The Abyss," I whispered, the word a cold weight in my chest.

I feel my hands go stiff around the chalice, and I’m frozen, it feels like I’m floating and I hear gasps from around the room although I can’t move to see what’s happening. I’m not sure how long this lasts but it doesn’t feel like what Eliza said it would feel. I’m scared but I can’t speak to ask for help. I feel like I’m blinded and a bright yellow colour is shining in my eyes. I can hear Damon calling my name and I can feel his emotions which scares me more, he’s shocked, but also fearful and in awe of whatever he can see. Suddenly I snap out of it, I’m back in reality and everyone is just staring at me. As I scan the room even Eliza and Roman are just staring emotionless.

"Agite Tenebrae Abyssi" Calling fort, black and long hands emerges from the same lines and points of the transmutation circle. As the eye is drawn and opens in the middle, she smiles back looking towards it as it pins its sight towards her. With the eye’s black, deep and somehow taunting stare, she let the hands wrap around her hands, waist, and feet. Falling into the abyss as she let her body be shallowed unto the eye, she draws a satisfying smile and all in a second and a few ticking times she opens her eyes as she is directed into HIS realm and void.
