She stilled for a moment before taking her hands out from his shirt and taking a step back from him, knowing he felt betrayed about the fact that she hesitated about baby talk. Serafina didn't say anything as she went and sat outside on the porch, taking off her shoes before sitting cross-legged on their swing, watching life pass by and waving at her neighbor who stepped out of the house across from theirs. She sat alone until it was time to get ready. Returning inside, her eyes took a moment to readjust to the interior lighting as she noticed the sofa to be vacant of Alessio's presence.

"This isn’t real," I whispered, my voice shaky. "See to believe," Gwen said with a smirk before sauntering away. I clutched the photo, my heart pounding. Who was Penelope? And why did she look exactly like me?

He tried to reach out to Penelope's hand but she dodged him. Penelope suddenly gritted her teeth while glancing at everyone. She got embarrassed, I believed. "Let's settle this in the apartment once and for all," she said back before she hops into the car and took off. As soon as Penelope disappeared from the party, Aiden also hops onto the bike and followed Penelope, leaving me alone, glancing at everyone's curious faces, including Karen. If not because Conrad lending me his car keys and whispering that I must follow Penelope and Aiden, my wolf could have stayed there until everyone disappeared.

She wanted to hit the driver in the face, with her elbow and escape, but Penny's grip around her wrist had tightened. Penelope leaned close suddenly, her voice low and venomous. “You like the way he looked at you, don’t you? You think he wants you now?” She scoffed. “He doesn’t. He’s just toying with you, you little stray mutt. But I’m going to make sure you remember where you belong.” The car pulled into the long driveway of the estate. Gravel crunched beneath the tires, and Poppy felt like she was being led into a trap.

Elsewhere – Clarissa’s Hidden Estate Clarissa watched Ethan and Nathan’s press conference replay again. “You’re going to try to be heroes,” she murmured. “But even heroes fall.” She tapped her keyboard again, this time opening a second folder. “Ethan: Mother | Institutional Records | Buried Files” Her lips curled. “Let’s see how strong love really is when I bring back everything he thought he’d escaped.”
