I study his face, and when I notice the humor in his eyes, I smile. "Interesting first words to say to your mate." His eyes roam my face with newfound concern. I get the sense he isn't sure what to make of me. The surrounding aura is intense, and strangely enough, I get the feeling he both wants to stay and leave me in the dust at the same time. His chest heaves, and his voice comes out stormy and cold. "I already have a mate. You must have imagined the mate-bond spark because I feel nothing for you, little witch."

My eyes glittered with painful memories, and before he could say anything, I mumbled. “Who is this enemy?” I pulled myself away from him, and something resembling hurt flashed through his eyes. I didn’t want to do this but he left me no choice. “Don’t stress yourself, baby. He is my enemy.” Despite the hurt, he said in his calm voice. I lifted my hand in the air as he stepped forward to gather me in his arms. “And you are my mate,” I muttered gulping down my tears. “I fell in love with you, but you desire your revenge more than me.”

“Do you think I will allow myself to succumb to your charms? You are my enemy’s daughter, you have the blood of a murderer!" I trembled at the rage in his eyes, cutting daggers into my chest. “We’re mates,” I told him softly, trying to reason out with him. Mates don't betray each other. They stayed together and fulfilled their destiny as one, or they would die slowly. Unless they reject each other as Boris had done to me. "You are not my mate. I don't have a mate who's my enemy's daughter." He said contemptuously. "Then reject me!" I challenged him.

I was sure that it was the first time that he was looking at me so intently for the longest time. "You are my enemy," he told me, his voice flat and serious. "There is nothing else to it. Our mate bond may be fated, but it doesn't change who you are, and who I am. And more importantly, it doesn't change what we are to each other, a hated enemy."

He glared at me without saying anything, and that made me angry. "Why did you bring me here? I'm your mate for crying out loud,"I said with my voice etched with anger. I emphasized the word ‘mate’, and that seems to make him angry. I watched as he balled his fist. "You're my enemy not my mate,"he shouted out angrily. "And you can never be," What!

" If you ever in your life try to attack my mate again, I'll kill you," his words sent shivers. The aura he was releasing made everyone submit to him. It crippled them except me, " I will say this one. Elizabeth is my mate, and Luna. If you have a problem, leave this pack because I won't tolerate disrespect towards her." He threw her against the wall, and she landed on the ground. Her friends were shaking in fear. " Now, leave, and don't come here again," I stood beside my mate, and he wrapped an arm around my waist.

He snaps. I'm taken aback by his outburst and step back. "What is wrong with you?!" I shout. His attitude is not what I expected. "What's wrong with me?! You're what's fucking wrong with me! You go and pull that shit with all my friends here!" He shouts back. "Why do you even care what I do!" "I care because you are my fucking mate and you fucking belong to me." I said folding my arms as if that was enough to keep him far from me ”Will you just relax, I am your mate after all,” he said and I rolled my eyes ”That means nothing to me” I spat and he sighed ”Why are you so cold and distant, this is what every girl dreams of,” he said and I scoffed ”You think every girl dreams of being your mate?” I asked him and he smirked ”Of course, that is one of their dreams but I meant that every girl dreams of the day that they meet their mate” he clarified
