History Is Not Boring Novels & Stories

I say, shaking my head, half-smiling. She softly laughs behind her palm, nodding in acknowledgement. "Oh, yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Only part of history that is interesting is when it’s a personal account from someone or the Holocaust, but when it comes to the broader history of the war, it is boring. I guess for me, it's the psychology and behaviours that are more intriguing to me." She taps her chin, and I raise a quizzical brow. "So what is your favourite era? You must have a few." I ask and watch in fascination as her eyes twinkle with excitement.

He laughed. "Yes but you forgot the other aspect of history because your whole focus used to be on the chapters of coward conspirators but now I am going to tell you the best part of history,"I put the gun back in my waistband,"The gallant princes who didn't think twice to slaughter their own family,their own father or brother just to claim what they thought rightfully theirs and this part of history always fascinate me." I could see the flicker of rage passing his eyes but he covered it by a vile smile.

“Good afternoon class. Today we’re talking about ancient tomes and the lore evolving them,” our history teacher, Mr. Barnes, announced, followed by low, dismissal groans from students. “Now, now, why the long faces? Learning about our ancestry is by far the most exciting thing! We get to learn about where our bloodline originated, and all the other events evolving it. It’s all about those tomes!” More groans followed. I sighed, flipping open my notebook and picking up my pen. It was drawing close to exams, so I took every opportunity to take notes on everything so I wouldn’t miss anything.

“All right, kids, we’re not gonna talk about the Battle of Saratoga today.” Everyone began to cheer, and I raised both of my eyebrows at him. He winked at me, which I thought others might think odd, except no one else seemed to notice. “Let’s talk about what you wanna know about American history,” he said. “A lot of people might think it’s boring, like all those guys are dead and who cares, right?” “Right!” over half the class shouted. “Wrong!” he corrected us. “Because, here’s the thing, not all of those guys are dead.”

Priscilla’s outfit varied only with her cold shoulder shirt and half dozen necklaces. Evie watched as the boy tugged her hair until she leaned back and he pressed a kiss to the top of her head. It was sweet and obviously platonic. So, she let it slide. “So, this is history, the class that everyone dreads because it’s boring.” “Why do we have to take history?” a girl at the front asked. “To prevent your generation from making the same mistakes previous generations have. And there are certain things that we have to cover. For the rest, we can discuss whatever you want. Pick a topic, relate it to history and we’re good. I try to keep things interesting.”

He shook his head, laughing it off as Mira and Ruby looked at him like he had grown three heads, “Well, who does? right?" Kevin shrugged his shoulders, chopping carrots on the kitchen’s island, "But believe it or not. They do have a place in our history," He revealed, making Mira raise her eyebrows at him in a confused manner, while Ruby eyed him warily, she was beginning to regret not taking her sister's advice, "And, as a history teacher, I find them fascinating.” "Why are we talking about this?" "You left because I was not interesting enough but here is it," He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly and quite dramatically, “I am obsessed with vampires. There I said, isn’t that interesting?”

The lesson begins. Ah, history, what an illusion humanity has of the past. And yet scholars argue the reality of their texts until they are blue in the face, even though something as recent as the Second World War is remembered in a manner that has no feeling for the times, for feeling, not events, is to me the essence of history. The majority of people recollect World War II as a great adventure against impossible odds, while it was nothing but an unceasing parade of suffering. How quickly mortals forget. But I forget nothing. Even I, a bloodthirsty harlot if ever there was one, have never witnessed a glorious war.

“That class was boring...” said Eirian with her hands clasped behind her nape. “Why do we have to take History when we’ve already lived through it?” She yawned. “It’s so we can learn from the mistakes of the past!” Dorin answered with his index finger raised. “And didn’t mother say before that knowing the past is the key to the future? Besides, it’s not just History, it’s ‘History and Politics’ and Aunt Agate said I needed it to know how this world works.”

Hazel arrived on campus slightly damp but determined to make the most of the day. Her first class of the day was History 203: World War II and Its Aftermath. The professor was a passionate storyteller, bringing to life the events and struggles of the past. Hazel found herself engrossed in the narratives of courage and resilience, drawing parallels to the challenges she faced in her own life.

Cruella gets the worst grades in her department but Mum never talks about it, Cruella Is the one disappointing them every time she brings her grades home but I wonder why Mum never wants to admit it and always says otherwise. But that to me is so unfair and biased, but what can I do? Nothing! I study History in College because I wish to be a historian. I love everything about history, especially the bible. Well, it is history too but in a Godly way. Apart from the bible being my favorite, Greek and Egyptian mythologies are also my favorites especially the Greek mythologies which are all about their gods.
