Linda shouted. I started to feel a pain in my heart. There's no way that snake would agree to drink it. Especially if she knows it would be in our favour. "What am I supposed to do now?" I said. "Don't worry we will figure something out." Pablo assured me. "Let's just find her cave first." Pablo said. A black hole suddenly appeared underneath us all and well fell in. Before we knew it we were back where we had left. The collapsed wall. "Well at least something good has happened for once." Linda said.

Caleb ran beside her, and the two of them ran to the lip of the cave, out into the sun, and stood at its entrance. Caitlin stopped short, and just in time: a small platform jutted out from the cave, then fell off, straight down a steep mountain face. Caleb stopped short beside her. There they were, standing on a narrow ledge, looking down. Somehow, Caitlin realized, they’d landed back inside a mountain cave, hundreds of feet high. There was no way up or down. And if they took one more step, they would plummet hundreds of feet below.

"There's no way it would be out here if there wasn't." The rabbit jumps off his back and hops away. Cloven uses all of his strength to stand and attempts to follow the rabbit. Garrett produced a small knife and cut his palm, letting the blood drip on the grass. Today instead of the the usual hole opening up one of the stone began to crack. It shifted and rumbled until it shifted several feet over, revealing a different hole. Freaky. “Let’s check it out.” Joel urged. We followed along and entered the new hole. Inside, the layout was essentially the same except for what this podium said. “Now let the real trials begin.”

Then, the digging began. *There must’ve been many more of him to dig so much, because my cave started to shake and rocks began tumbling down around me. Most of the crumbly stiffs were all gone by now, and the ones ones that were still there fell out from between the rocks as dirt began to fall through. First a little, then a lot. Then the roof of my cave began to fall away as I got my first glimpse of the world above. My mouth began to water, probably because I was so hungry, and something starting thumping - hard - inside my chest.

Days passed, and the land became riddled with holes. Then, finally, we found something. Beneath the layers of earth, we uncovered an underground karst cave—an empty cavern where Jack had fallen. The moment I saw it, my heart pounded with renewed hope. Torch in hand, I didn’t hesitate. I jumped in. The cave stretched into a vast, shadowed expanse. Towering stone pillars supported the cavern, their jagged edges dripping with water from the recent rains. Stalagmites jutted from the ground like frozen spears, and the floor was slick with shallow pools. The air was damp, thick with the scent of stone and earth.

But sheer desperation gave me the strength to push through, emerging on the other side into another dark tunnel. I didn’t stop to catch my breath. I kept moving, the oppressive silence around me broken only by the distant sound of Caleb’s pursuit. And then, suddenly, the ground beneath me gave way. I screamed as I fell, the world spinning around me. I hit the ground hard, pain shooting through my body. My flashlight skittered across the floor, its beam illuminating the cavern I had fallen into. This space was larger, with towering stalagmites and a shallow pool of water reflecting the light. But it wasn’t the beauty of the cavern that held my attention—it was the figure standing at its edge.

Fortunately, the tide had just begun to recede. A dark opening became visible beneath the cliffs. "There it is," Oliver whispered. Agent Ross signaled his officers. "Half of you stay here and secure the exit." "The rest come with me." Everyone quietly entered the cave. The sound of waves echoed through the narrow tunnel. Water dripped from the ceiling. The air smelled of salt and damp stone. Emma clutched the memory card tightly inside her jacket. If Richard Holloway captured them... Everything her father had sacrificed would be lost. After several minutes of walking, the tunnel ended at an old iron ladder.

We scrambled up the rocky bank, vines clawing at my robe, the falls thundering ahead. The hidden cave mouth yawned behind a curtain of water, mist kissing our faces as we dove in. Inside, the air was warmer, lit by bioluminescent fungi glowing soft blue on the walls. The space felt alive, echoing with the waterfall's song, a sacred bubble amid the storm. I collapsed against the stone, chest heaving, Drake barricading the entrance with boulders.

Once a collapse started, it couldn't be stopped. After about 50 feet of collapse, the newly dug tunnel no longer needed Hayley's water pressure at all. The walls began to cave in on their own, with huge sections falling in a chain reaction. Hayley turned and ran. The moment she burst out, more than 90% of the tunnel behind her had collapsed. The zombies in the underground chamber were completely sealed inside. "Boss!" The instant Hayley came out, a tall guy well over six feet let out a sob and threw himself straight into her arms.
