I replied. We continued to talk about music as we walked back. And then I found out that music was one of the three things she loved doing most. Her hobbies. Reading romance novels, listening to music, and sleeping are among them. How can sleep be a hobby? I guess I have seen just one weird person with such a hobby. "Then I guess you slept the whole day today since you have no work to do," I asked. "Yes. I even wish to sleep more." My eyes are still thirsty for sleep like vampires are thirsty for blood.

He smiled proudly as he added his surname after my maiden name and it made my stomach flip. “Come to the main point, Ade, we’re slowly nearing the villa and as far as I know you, you won’t open up to me again. I don’t want to miss this chance. “I love horse riding and writing poems, actually I used to scribble some lines in my journal when I was in school. I can’t say I can still do it.” I told him something which had been my secret. His face welcomed an amused look. “You write poems? It’s interesting. I want to read them if you allow me.” He said and the glint in his eyes had appraisal for me.

I couldn't help but wonder what it would feel like to run my fingers over it. "So, what are your hobbies?" he asked, breaking the silence. I shrugged and didn’t know what to tell him. For the last two years, there were no hobbies for me. I felt a twinge of embarrassment as I realized I didn't have much to share about my hobbies. "Honestly, I haven't really had much time for hobbies lately," I admitted. He looked at me with genuine interest. "What do you do for fun, then?" I thought for a moment before replying, "I like to read and go for walks. And sometimes I'll binge-watch a show on Net***flix." I said with a faint smile while I used to do all these things way before Elijah died.

Bruce hurried. Evening had come, the sun is about to set behind the trees. Robin and the other were taking a walk on the yard. The kids dragged him to the flower beds and he gossiped with them. “Can you do crisscross skips?” Lily asked tagging at Robin’s hands. “Well…I don’t know. I haven’t done that in a while and I’m not athletic. I am a painter.” “Painter? Then do you draw people and paint them?”. “Yes, That’s my hobby and I like doing it.”

“How about you, Sir? Do you have other hobbies?” “Other than playing online games?” Jane chuckled then nodded. “Yes, Sir. Other than playing games, what are your other hobbies?” “I love hiking in the mountains. Just like you, I love adventures and physical activities which will challenge me.” “That’s cool. I thought gamers like you would prefer to stay at home.” “No way. You should forget the old perception that all gamers are home lovers.” “Yeah, I will. Then, do you still hike nowadays?” “No. I want to, but I can’t.”

The dad was rather charming. I see a dog house and a dog playing in the garden. When I go to converse with the parents, they are happy to see me. I find Robert sitting in the garden. He’s taken up origami. A hobby he tells me he enjoys a lot. If only he could make people as easy as he makes birds and frogs. I don’t see anything wrong with it and tell him to study the hobby more. It seems to please his parents. The next time we have a visit, he tells me he’s found a new hobby.

I really need to stop doing that. “I know you want to go on the trip. But, it’s just me. I don’t plan on going.” “That’s why you don’t have friends. You don’t know how to enjoy sometimes.” He raised an eyebrow. “Who said I don’t know how to enjoy?” I turned to him. “Okay then. Name a few things that you enjoy doing as a hobby.” “I go to the gym regularly.” “That’s not a hobby.” “Who said? It’s my hobby.”

"I heard you've got a wide range of hobbies." Her confidence swelled at his initiative. Sawyer's name was proving useful. She smiled and said, "Sort of. I enjoy a variety of artistic pursuits, including music, calligraphy, and painting. My parents got me into them when I was young, and over time, I grew to love them." "That's great. You do strike me as someone who's into the arts. Such hobbies tend to keep people calm and grounded," Damian said. Out of nowhere, Lauren asked, "Mr. Frost, how bad is your short-sightedness?"

Renee replied. “So, you liked the flowers I bought you for the garden before?” “Yes. They were beautiful and they smelled wonderful when they bloomed,” Renee said as she thought about the flowers she had been neglecting lately. “What are some of your hobbies?” Jesse asked. “I don’t have hobbies anymore, but before I used to like going to the movies. I also...” Renee trailed off, embarrassed about her last hobby. “What? What was it?” Jesse asked, genuinely interested in her answer.

“Anything. Hobbies. Favorite food. Embarrassing childhood stories. Whatever you want to share.” I wrap my hands around my latte, using the warmth to steady myself. “I don't really have hobbies. School keeps me pretty busy.” “There has to be something. Everyone has something they do when they're not drowning in textbooks.” “I read,” I offer. “Romance novels, mostly. The kind with happy endings that feel impossible in real life.” “Escapism.” “Is that bad?” “No. It's human.” He takes a sip of his coffee. “We all need to escape sometimes. My escape is hockey. On the ice, everything else disappears. It's just movement and strategy and the game.”
