Hollow Gamer Novels & Stories

The shards flew everywhere, one slicing into my exposed calf. "I've already paid you back. If you keep humiliating me, it'll be crossing a line." "Am I crossing a line?" I turned to Colton. Colton quickly shook his head. "How could it be? If it weren't for you helping him back then, he'd probably be begging under some bridge." I turned my gaze back to Zach. "Did you hear that? You owe me more than just money. You owe me your life." Lifting my injured leg, I showed him the blood trickling down in a thin line.

My eyes filled with tears, my hands clenched into fists. Suddenly, the image of my daughter's gruesome death flooded my entire mind. "But Sam's been sterile for some time now. How are you going to explain the baby in your belly to him?" Pete Griffith hugged Jody Parker, letting out a playful, teasing laugh.

“ The next game is called the game of Echoes.” Luke announced, standing on the makeshift ring where the five used to practice fighting. “Each competitor will go through the East portal which leads to the world of the hollows. For the sake of those who do not know,” he continued. “ Hollows are phantoms that can see guilt, pain, rage, jealousy, and envy. They can also materialize into your greatest fears, your deepest desires and the things that haunt you when you sleep.

And she saw it hit him. His breath caught. "Whoa..." "What?" she asked, even though she knew. He stared at her, stunned. "That was... you felt it too, didn't you?" She nodded slowly. Zevi let out a shaky laugh. "Damn. I wasn't expecting that." "What are you doing this deep in Moonfang territory?" He smirked. "Just passing through. Or I was. Name's Zevi Korrin, Gamma of Hollowcliff. Traveling under the radar. You're not supposed to know that."

She dialed a number she knew off head and called. "It takes great talent and skill to veil great talent and skill. Little Lotus, how is the brighter side of the world?" A crooked old female voice answered the phone. "Only psychopaths and manipulators can achieve hiding their talents and skills Elder Hoshi. Everything is going as planned thank you for asking. Oh, but a Hian Ji attacked me at my home and knows everything about me. I thought I died and my existence was erased with you and the other Elders' help. What's going on?"

Her fingers typed away on her screen, before she looked back up at me. "Alright, Ivan. Who are you?" "Pardon?" "If you were stopped by a complete stranger, who would you say you are?" First of all, my security guards would never allow me to be stopped by a random stranger, no matter who the person was. But, I still had to "cooperate" did I not? "I would say I am Ivan Holloway. Chief executive officer of Holloway Empire. The third richest man in America and the first in the state of California."

"She had power, and grief, and no methodology. Your ability is refined, by comparison. Specific. The Hollow is what you get when that kind of power is applied without control or direction." "And my version is controlled." "Your version is instinctive, which is not the same as controlled. But the instinct is precise." Morwen turned a page. "That is why the Hollow targets you. You are the thing it was built to be. Functional, directed, capable of actual anchoring rather than catastrophic overreach." A pause. "It recognizes you the way a broken tool recognizes the working version of itself." Clara sat with this. "That's a slightly unsettling metaphor."

The headquarters of the Crescent Guild feels less like an office and more like a shrine in mourning. The war room is dim, the large holographic table displaying the same two Player IDs, rotating slowly. “A single Instance. Two Perfect Clears.” The speaker is Zane Forrester, his voice steady but with an undercurrent of something raw. “This hasn’t happened in the history of the Game. Not once.”

It seemed to be coming from a side tunnel, a narrow passage that led down into the lower levels. "Raven..." a voice whispered. It wasn't my father’s voice this time. It was mine. "Don't listen," Jax said, his hand tightening on my shoulder. "It’s an echo. It’s trying to find a crack in your mind." We reached a large cave. The ceiling was lost in the shadows, but the floor was covered in a thick carpet of the black ink. In the center of the room stood a figure. It wasn't a man. It was a collection of shadows held together by a suit of Silverfang armor. It was the "Hollow General," but he was standing up now. His movements were jerky, like a puppet on strings.
