The cup Liam had picked up to drink warm water from clattered to the floor, the noise echoing off the walls of the dungeon, breaking the deathly tranquility of the environment. Even his breath seized at that moment, and his mouth dropped open. Henry shot to his feet, his eyes wide with horror. Liam's hands began to shake terribly and he sucked in a ragged breath. “What? How could that happen?” Henry asked in a voice so tiny it barely qualified as a whisper.

Henry didn't want to talk about Cliff at all. He interrupted Harry. "Harry, I need to cook for her now. Goodbye." With that, he hung up. Cliff's behavior had disappointed Henry tremendously. Henry was never a violent person, but Cliff had gone too far this time. After ending the call, Henry started cooking. It wasn't hard to prepare the ingredients. After taking everything out, Henry was ready to scramble the eggs. First, heat the pan, then pour in the oil. Once the oil was hot enough, he hastily grabbed the eggs from beside him, intending to crack them into the pan.

I asked. “Another one of his historical smuts.” Henry replied, raising his voice to grab Ron’s attention. “This is fine historical literature not smut.” I snorted at that. “Fine historical literature my ass.” Henry said. Hen was right. I had once searched for a book in Ron’s vast library that did not involve a Duke being wickedly seduced by a temptress or a Highlander spilling his seeds into a moaning fair maiden and had not found any. Not that I was complaining, they were quite educative.

It was almost 30 minutes yet we haven’t found one of the 3 books. “Damn this!” I curse as I look at the pile of books with frustration. I then heard Henry amusedly laughs at me. I look at him really pissed. “What’s so funny?” I said sounding so pissed. “Come on, what’s the use of being the daughter of a well-known businessman and a granddaughter of the 3rd richest man in the business world if you torture yourself digging into these books? You can just call someone and that book will be with you in no time.” He said amusedly I throw at him 1 book that he caught in time.

Henry’s lips curled into a smile, and he spoke with great authority, “As of today, the Johnson Group will declare itself bankrupt and commence the liquidation proceedings.” Ava’s eyes widened in horror. It felt as though a bolt of lightning had struck her, leaving her frozen and unable to move. The sound of smashing objects and her father’s frantic cries made her tremble. Looking at the man before her, so detached and cruel, she felt a profound sense of terror. “No…” Chase tried to grab Henry’s arm like a madman, crying, “For Lenny’s sake! Mr. Hale, please spare us for Lenny’s sake! I beg of you!”

“T-The drug wasn’t mine! I-I was just following—” “Who planned this?” Alex’s voice lowered further, turning cold and deadly. Henry’s lips trembled violently. He felt genuine terror and fear for the first time in his life. Because the man standing before him no longer looked rational. He looked dangerous. Perhaps monstrous. “I-I don’t know everything!” Henry stammered desperately. “I swear—” Suddenly, Derek’s phone vibrated sharply in the tense silence. He immediately answered. But after only hearing a few words, his expression changed instantly and he turned to look at Alex.

Henry snarled. I took in Henry's current state, then stepped forward and closed the distance between us. I watched as he shrank back in terror. "Henry, do you need me to remind you what it felt like to have your head split open and suffer a concussion?" The color instantly drained from Henry's face, as if he had just seen a ghost. He shrieked and scrambled backward. "Stop him! Stop this lunatic, quick!" The people around us looked eager to step in, yet not a single one dared move forward.

Not like this. “Henry!” Xavier’s voice cracked, raw and desperate, clawing at the very air. He took a step forward, but the man he called out to was no longer there. Before him stood a monster, a creature born from torment and rage. The shadows writhed around Henry like serpents, twisting and alive, and the man—no, the thing—was now fully consumed. Those familiar eyes, once filled with warmth and love, were now a deep, endless black, unseeing, unfathomable.

Drrrtt Drrrtt Henry's cell phone, which was in his pocket, vibrated, and immediately startled him. Immediately, Henry took his cell phone from his trouser pocket. Bri, his friend who helps Henry look after Louisa calls him. Panic was instantly apparent on Henry's face. Immediately, he distanced himself from the funeral crowd there. Henry also picked up the call there. "Yes, Bri? What is it? What happened? Is everything okay? Louisa...” Henry asked Bri a lot of questions as soon as he picked up the call there.

By this time of the morning, it was as quiet as a graveyard and no cars were riding down the main road cutting through the woods. At least, that’s what I thought until I heard a horn behind me. I drifted to the side of the road. The horn blared again. I wasn’t in the way, so I didn’t respond. The horn blared once more. Okay, what the hell? That was annoying. I glanced over my shoulder and instantly regretted it. The car was a convertible I’d recognize anywhere. Red. Flashy. Obnoxious. Like a midlife crisis with glitter. Behind the wheel was Henry—Dean’s rugby-obsessed sidekick. A golden retriever with a driver’s license and half a brain. I wondered how he was able to graduate with us.
