I murmured, gathering my things. At Row D, I ran my fingers across worn spines: Lycanthropy and Legends, Moon-bound, The Silver Curse. My pulse quickened as I pulled a heavy volume free. I whispered to myself, “Could I really…?” “Could you really what?” a voice came from behind me. I spun to see Fiona standing there, arms folded, a curious smile on her face. “Fiona! You scared me.” “Sorry.” She peered at the book in my hand. “Werewolves? That’s… unexpected. Planning a Halloween prank?”

I steeled myself and opened the door. The hallway was awash in red. Smears and spatters of bright and dark blood covered the walls, the floor, and my door. My head reeled. What the hell happened? Why was there so much blood outside my door? Hadn't the guy in 603 seen it through his peephole? I couldn't help looking toward apartment 603. To my surprise, the door stood half-open, and it was dead quiet inside. I picked my way past the bloodstains and made my way to apartment 603.

In 1983 a Mrs Carson of New York was laid out in our coffin, presumed dead of hear disease. As mourners watched, she suddenly sat up, alive as you or I. Unfortunately her daughter dropped dead of fright on the spot. I don't own any of this stories. I found them in some creepy books. I'm thinking of writing my own scary stories, but not anytime soon. We continued walking but moments later, we made an abrupt stop when we heard roara that echoed in the whole place. I turned nervously and my heart started to beat frantically when I saw two giant tigers with two heads and snakes as their tails. They look at us as if they are hunters

Whatever it was, I didn't care but of course, I knew there was something more. I opened the book flipped through the old pages and dread settled thick within my heart. This wasn't just some quack book you could buy on A****n or any local book store. This was the real deal and I could feel the presence of evil as I bent over to examine the pages. There was a section on human sacrifices and spells. There were so many different sections about occult practices that were unspeakable and gruesome.

This shadow, this darkness with fangs, it had the power to stipulate how they dreamed and that made him crazy with need to blow the creature’s head off. “This is a local legend about nightmares, a satanic sorcerer, and black magic. It is titled as Shadows and Blood, and is 50 years old. Folklore, through songs and words and this guy had recorded it down, a little and a lot of his own story.” She looked at the book, biting her lips, forehead crinkling in concentration. “Sound gory and ancient and I have never heard of this.” Art said as he struggled to open his tired eyes. I felt and heard him saying, it seemed. The creature turned my way and looked right into my eyes, which might have seeped through my soul because as I looked right back into its eyes, what seemed to be more than just a recollection of my dreams clouded my mind. The images were so uncanny and scary and mind wrecking too that I had to slap my eyelid shut to prevent myself from seeing more. My hands frantically shot to my ears to keep them from hearing more unnerving sounds that appeared to be coming out from the eyes of the creature... If that was even possible.

I glared at the book till I was on my bed and the book never opened - maybe it is my illusion. I ducked myself into the sheets and this time I could hear the flipping of a book - The book. I was scared as hell because when I was still young, I read a lot of horror stories without the consent of my mother, Nahigra. I stared until the last flip of a page. Gradually and slowly as I can, I left my bed to see what my eyesight can't comprehend. To my surprise, it was still that same chapter and a phrase written in bold, "WHEN EVERYTHING GOES SOUTH, DO NOT GO NUT?"
