It drew the direction of its growth from Nyx's waiting. In the final moment before she was sealed, Nyx had carved a brief command into the Void with her own lily-of-the-valley frequency. She had chosen a thistle instead of a lily, because the lily is the flower of the Mother of Wolves. She was already the last one. The last one must make way for the new. The new one will have her own flower. She planted the thistle to pave the road for her successor. Thistles can survive at seventy below zero. Can take root in that thin, narrow transition layer between frozen soil and permafrost.

her lips were curled into a soft, welcoming smile. I offered a small smile in return before muttering a soft "Hello" Lilo looked at me expectantly, waiting for me to say my name, but then sighed when she realized I wasn't going to. "Colleen, this is Rosalya, but she also goes by Rosie. She's Calix’s human mate!", Lilo said like if she were a proud mom. Oh my gosh, this girl. Colleen gasped, clamping her hands to her mouth with widened eyes. I shrunk into the bed a little as I wasn't really liking her reaction.

after this. Hestia, on the other hand, was enjoying a relaxing meditation inside the huge greenhouse of the academy. The greenhouse was composed of a house-like structure that mostly has flowers like lilacs, lily of the valley, sweet iris, bougainvilia and nasturtium to name a few of them. Connected to the house-like structure was a huge dome that houses trees inside. Oak tree, chestnut tree and Ostrya were most of them, but there are still more and some budding trees were planted in their own pots for the meantime, which were placed in the sides of the dome. In the middle of the dome was a mini pond that had water lilies in them and some little fishes that were wary of other people sitting

“It’s obviously either red or yellow, I don’t know of any grey muted colored flowers, the center even looks black.” I plant my butt on the grass next to him, “this is Crimson Beebalm,” I touch the petals, “this one is bright red but they can be a lot darker than this. Red is,” I take a second to think as his smile makes my brain short circuit, “hot, intense, and even dangerous. But this flower is all talk and no show. It’s edible and used for medicine,” I tell him as I begin to pluck some of the flowers out of the earth. “I’ve never had a color described to me,” he admits with a smile of appreciation on his face.

She pushed open the door to the flower shop where Hailey worked, a tiny bell jingling above her. The shop was an explosion of colors and scents. Brightly colored blooms filled the space, from sunflowers to roses, orchids to tulips. The air was rich with the fragrance of fresh flowers, creating a soothing contrast to Katherine's excessively raging thoughts. The walls were lined with shelves displaying delicate vases and decorative pots, each meticulously arranged to showcase the vibrant beauty of the flowers within.

He pointed to the tulip I had been holding just moments ago, the Midnight Flame tulip. I blinked, surprised by the question. I hadn’t expected him to be interested in the flowers at all, let alone ask such a specific question. Maybe I’d underestimated him. “That?” I asked, glancing at the dark flower, its deep purple petals almost black around the edges. “That’s a Midnight Flame tulip.” I smiled, proud of the flower I had cultivated, but still slightly thrown off by his sudden attention. “The Midnight Flame is a rare variety,” I explained, trying to stay calm. “It’s a bit temperamental and difficult to grow. It needs the right conditions—particular soil, the right amount of sunlight, and car

He was confused but chose to keep his mouth shut. “It was my mother who loved gardening. When she passed away, it would be a waste if her garden would be neglected,” she answered. “What’s inside the greenhouse, Dani? Vegetables?” Marcus couldn’t stop himself from asking. Everyone who saw their greenhouse assumed that they grew vegetables inside, but no, they were wrong. Inside the greenhouse was a collection of different species of flowers, mostly imported varieties, especially roses and orchids. “Just wait till you get inside, Marcus.” Then, she opened the entryway towards the greenhouse and she heard how the man gasped as he saw the blooming flowers.
