I was done eating anyways.
Abel sat back slightly, stroking his beard. “I got an idea,” he said finally. “But I need a bowl of water.”
I blinked. “Water?”
“Yeah.” He gestured toward the sink. “Hurry up, kid. Let’s test something.”
I didn’t waste time asking more questions. Instead, I rushed to the kitchen, grabbed a medium-sized mixing bowl, and filled it with water from the faucet. As I waited for the bowl to fill, I glanced back at Abel, watching as he carefully detached a small, round object from the center of the machine. It was no bigger than a coin, but the moment he pulled it free, the vibrations grew stronger.
