How To Refuse The Route Chapter 1 Novels & Stories

I reached for the Original Silence. I walked toward the Auditor, the "Gavel of the First Day" lashing out like a frozen whip. I didn't try to dodge. I Accepted the Judgment. I let the gavel strike my spirit, but instead of breaking, I Absorbed the Debt. I took the nineteen years of rejection, the ninety-nine layers of struggle, and the hundred chapters of pain, and I turned them into Equity. I took the Wooden Key from my marrow and funneled the entirety of the One-Hundred-and-Ten Chapters of Being Real into the strike. I didn't try to delete the audit. I Closed the Account.

So this was how it was going to be. Not just emotional warfare. Legal resistance. Social pressure. Influence. Money. I let out a slow breath. I had expected difficulty. But I had not expected doors to close so quickly. My phone buzzed in my hand. Sandra. “Hey,” she said immediately when I answered. “How did it go?” I hesitated. “He refused.” “What? Why?” “He said no one wants to cross the Williams family.” There was a pause. “That coward,” she muttered. “It’s not just him,” I said quietly. “It’s everyone.”

Then nodded once. “Alright.” The acceptance surprised me. “You’ll come to it in your own time,” he added. I didn’t respond. Because I didn’t know if that was true. Or if I ever would. He stepped back slightly, giving me space again. “But understand this,” he said. “Refusing the ritual doesn’t stop the world from moving. It only decides how you move with it.” I looked at him then. Really looked. “And what if I don’t want to move with it?” I asked.

“Miri…I need you to accept the rejection. Please. Sever our bond completely. It’s the only way.” She is in so much pain. I can barely stand the pain myself. I turn away as I hold her, unable to see her suffer. I feel the pleasurable sparks and tingles slowly fizzling away. I look away for just a few moments, and before I can stop her, she claws open her own chest, ripping out her heart. I scream as her blood covers my arms and legs, but I don’t let her go. I watch as the light fades from her eyes and her body turns cold.

I ran after her, I scorned through the crowded people on the road, finally getting close. "Boma, please wait" I said She makes a stop, turned back, and asked "who are you?". Eyes lock as the Chapter ends

he growl at her ferociously "you shut up Zoe... Say that again and I won't hesitate to kill you" he threatened her. Jem glare at Zoe then he spoke "It's your fault that didn't leave him any choice, you chose to runaway once Kyle rejected you, leaving a 14 year old to fend for this pack when Rogues and the Crescent pack were attacking this pack and here you are telling him that he has a choice. What choice does he have when the only option he could do is do right by here and reject her?”

'Well, it's this past owner's fault, not me. "T-That's not what you think—" "Sorry for bothering your sweet moments but should I lead the way? Or should I leave anyway?" Reves loudly asked on the other side of the road. END OF CHAPTER 17

“We have not even—” I can’t stop my head from shaking. The refusal is instinct, not reason—my body rejecting the shape of the words before my mind can arrange them. Pillows shift behind me with the movement. A dull throb blooms behind my eyes, and I swallow hard as if I can press the dizziness down by force. “No,” I whisper again, firmer now, as if saying it twice can make it true. “There is still time. And once my father returns—” “If he does.”

He offered but I shook my head. "I refuse. I don't want any more troubles, Sir," I told him and freed my hand from his. "Thank you for helping me," I said to him and walked past him into the street. "Goodbye," I turned back to face him and waved at him. I hope it's won't be the last time that I would see him. Although I regret turning down his offer, it's was what anyone could have done if they were in my shoes. "Taxi," I called the first Yellow taxi I saw and entered. "Main road," I heaved a deep sigh as I entered.
