The silence stretched then I turned on my heel, stormed out, and slammed the door behind me.
The sound echoed down the hall, sharp and final.
I stopped just outside, pressing a hand against the door for a second not out of hesitation, but to steady the storm raging in my chest.
Then I walked away.
