Max smiles, “You build blanket forts, you tell jokes, you know how to ballroom dance.” “I don’t tell jokes,” I explain. “Chad said you do. Lucy told him some of the jokes. It made them laugh,” Max replies. Curious, he asks, “Could I hear one?” I shake my head, “It was corny jokes to cheer her up is all. It was, “Why did the scarecrow win an award? Because he was outstanding in his field.” Things most kids hear on a playground.” Max looks disappointed. Taking a deep breath, I say, “A cheeseburger walks into a bar and orders a beer. The bartender says, “Sorry, we don’t serve food here”.”

For the next few minutes, the conversation shifted to lighter topics. They told me funny stories about things that had happened around the house, and for the first time in what felt like forever, I actually laughed. Their stories were filled with small, humorous mishaps—like the time the gardener accidentally watered Mr. Dela Cruz's shoes or when a squirrel ran into the kitchen, causing panic among the staff. Their lively chatter made me forget, even if just for a little while, about all the chaos happening around me. It was like a brief escape, a reminder that life could still have moments of joy, even in the middle of a storm.

As we perused the menu, placing our orders with the attentive waitress, Victor's playful nature began to shine through our conversation. He regaled me with amusing anecdotes, his quick wit and infectious laughter filling the air. I couldn't help but be drawn into his joyous energy, each of his funny remarks eliciting genuine laughter from me. "You know," Victor chuckled, leaning in slightly, "I once tried to cook a gourmet meal and ended up burning toast. It was quite a masterpiece of culinary disaster."

Calvin replied, reaching out to tousle Emily's hair playfully. Throughout the journey, Calvin couldn't stop laughing as Emily told stories about her innocent and funny students at school. What made it funny was actually how Emily narrated the stories. She was so adept at expressing herself with her body gestures. Calvin couldn't believe that Emily's once annoying quirky behavior was now something he genuinely enjoyed.

I called gently, urging him to share what he thought about what I had just read. All of a sudden , Declan burst into a deep, throaty laugh. I stared at him, confused, wondering what could possibly be amusing about what I had just read or if he hadn’t even heard me properly. “What’s so funny?” I asked. Then Declan finally reined in his laughter and composed himself. “The story is ridiculous!” he said. I exhaled in relief; he’d heard what I read, grasped it, and Thankfully just like the usual character of declan, he did not take to heart. “Yeah, right,” I agreed.

A genuine smile. The first one she'd seen from him. "Your mother loved thunderstorms." Rebecca blinked. Of all the things she expected— that wasn't one of them. Elias laughed quietly. "Everyone remembers dramatic things." His eyes softened. "I remember ordinary things." For the next hour, he told stories. Small stories. Human stories. How Claire sang while cooking. How she hated burnt toast. How she could never remember where she left her car keys. How she laughed. How she loved.

I reply putting on a fake sad expression. "Well, if you think of any other funny stories, you'll have to share them with me," Iskander says smiling. "You're a really good storyteller." "Thanks," I say, feeling a warm glow of happiness. "It's nice to laugh and have fun. I haven't had that in a while." "That's why I'm here," Iskander says, giving me a big smile. "To make sure you have a good time." I smile back at him, feeling grateful for his friendship. "Thanks, Iskander. That means a lot to me."

His eyes were bristling with anger while he said this because he couldn’t tolerate Caroline’s rude behavior. “You have time to decide till tomorrow! And if your answer is NO then you can tell me RIGHT NOW!” “I never said my answer is NO. I’ll think and tell by tomorrow.” Caroline rushed out of the office with attitude as she yelled at my dad. ***** “What a dumb human! Money cant buy happiness??? Money can buy anything! And if you have money then why do you need happiness anyways. These emotions/feelings are such a waste of time!” Caroline mumbled in anger in her office.

A man hit by a car in New York in 1977 got up uninjured, but lay back down in front of the car when a bystander told him to pretend he was hurt so he could collect the insurance money. The car then rolled forward and crushed him I don't own any of this stories. I found them in some creepy books. I'm thinking of writing my own scary stories, but not anytime soon.
