Prologue Daniel's POV I went on with my life, not expecting even a tiny bit of happiness to find me, I was just living under the dark side of life. Killing, hunting monsters. No happiness, not even love. Nothing could reach my frozen soul. That is, if I had a soul.

“Are you a vampire, too?” I snorted, though my lips curled in disgust. “No, I’m not. I’m a hunter, Ver. I hunt supernatural creatures, monsters, anything that goes bump in the night, to keep humans safe.” “Monsters like me, you mean,” she whispered, fixing her eyes on the muddy ground.

he chuckled. One of them had short blond hair, while the other one had a long, distinctive scar down his right cheek. “That’s not creepy,” I spat. They chuckled. “It’s not wrong for friends to check up on other friends.” “How did you find me?” My voice cracked. The blonde one barked out a laugh. “I’m a Hunter. It’s in my blood to find wolves. You wouldn’t know that because you’re only half.” I swallowed in response. Crap.

“Someone is trying to stop us.” “What do we do now?” I asked, my eyes fixed on the tragedy unfolding before us. Hunter, with a piercing gaze at the burning house, responded seriously, “The people who did this are still around.” My next question was instinctive. “Where?” Hunter turned to face me, his golden eyes shining with restrained fury. Before he could answer, a transformation began before my eyes. Hunter's body twisted, gray fur covering his human form. He emerged as an imposing wolf, his golden eyes intensified by the fury pulsating in his veins.

They did not know who to trust and this stranger out of nowhere was raising a few red flags already. “Hunter…” Lin scolded the guy. That was rude and although she did not trust the girl, that did not mean that they had to disrespect her. She looked like their age. “It’s okay,” Stereo ran her hand through her lustrous hair, smiling at Lin. She then turned towards Hunter and addressed the question he had asked. “I’m a hybrid of angel and werewolf. My mom was an angel and the heavens and my dad was a werewolf,” She explained.

Yasmine said. “The night hunter is not just anyone’s majesty. He is intelligent, very good at gadgets, and a skilled warrior for us not to have figured him out till today. We went through the hut, and we found no scent—nothing to lead us to who he is—but we found something instead,” he said, and I wondered what he found. I know there is nothing inside there. He brought out a box and opened it. Then he brought out a list; that’s the list of people involved in the massacre. I had the list in soft copy and hard copy.

He was strict with Chris and Zand, especially when it came to their training, and he made sure they both sparred with Andy every say. It makes me see Hunter in a new light too, he held his own against a dragon and they were so evenly matched, there was never a clear winner. A lot of things are beginning to make more sense now. Hunter is Celestial Alpha blood, it’s hardly surprising he could take on an unshifted dragon and live to tell the tale. Every time Gabe, Christian, Zander, Gerald or I sparred with him he would wipe the floor with us within minutes.

A male voice, that I didn’t know, asked. Looking up, I saw a male player, standing a few feet away. His character was a vampire, but he was wearing the armor of a Hunter. Hunters in this game were players that found pleasure in attacking other players for their gold pieces and items. Granted, only common items could be looted.

A few weeks later, we’re joined by Avani, his elf friend, Merethyl, Kaylani and Ishir. Ishir is the best tracker in the group. With the work he does searching for missing humans and supernaturals, he travels all over and has the potential to find the hidden bunkers where the Chief is creating his hybrids.

Any adolescent’s worst nightmare. Even more so when none of those brats care about me. Everyone knew I was a human. Despite the fact that I had earned my place in the pack, some people only fantasized about my disappearance. “Is everything fine here?” Hunter’s handsome face peered into the game room. Hunter is the pack’s future Alpha and my best friend on the planet. His multicolored eyes always drew my attention. One of them reminded me of a sunny day in a meadow, while the other of a clear sky. His hair was brown and unkempt, but it added just the right touch to make him appear carefree and wild.
