Elektris glided towards him, summoning more power from the Heralds and struck Hermes so viciously that he was then falling fast. The celestial beings must have been in the air for a while because Hermes went on to crash right down in Times Square, New York, his body flattening a parked yellow taxi cab. There were screams as people stared, at first confused then got delirious when there was a second crash, this time a large truck having its rear tires explode from the weight of the figure that had just landed on top of it. Unlike Atlanta, New York was way brighter at night, thanks to the many lighted jumbo trons and neon screens that illuminated the city.

They were zooming past the other cars at such speed that if they were to crash they would die on the spot and Mustang Baby would be called nothing but trash. "Don't be a pu*sy," Hunter muttered as he increased the speed. Luca cussed under his breath before he put the seat belt on and Hunter let out a deep throaty chuckle. Everyone was scared of his Mustang baby. "Here," Luca passed him a bottle of beer which he took quietly while staring at the beautiful scenery. This was Luca's spot. The place where he always disappears too. A top of the hill from where he could see the whole city sparkling in lights. The city of Khordon loomed ahead with its stone buildings and spires on every hill. Felix must have seen the look on my face, and he nodded grimly. “Time slows down in here, especially when you feel that every moment might be your last. Now let’s hurry. I’ve got something to say to you.”

“Down!” I had my arm around Jace’s shoulders as I pushed him forward to the floor, and my other arm was around Malachi, and I gripped Levi’s jacket tightly. “Hylja sála!” Blue flames enveloped all of us as the bullets tore through the windows of the restaurant with deafening bursts.

I’m still feeling the phantom weight of the helmet on my head. "A world tour," Alex grins. It’s a sharp, dangerous expression. "I always wanted to take you to Paris." "Let's go break some stuff," I say. Tokyo. The neon skyline of Shinjuku burns my retinas. It’s raining—a cold, relentless drizzle that turns the city into a blur of Cyberpunk colors. We are on a rooftop, fifty stories up. The wind is whipping my hair across my face, stinging my eyes. Below us, across a terrifyingly narrow alleyway, is the server farm. It’s disguised as an office building, but Echo’s thermal scan shows the heat bloom of a massive data center in the basement.

He has the hottest groan in the world and I hope to the moon that I never hear it again. I honestly can’t wait for you guys to come back because I can’t face Miss. Weathers alone.
