In this book, HYBRID term is used to refer to those wolves who have one of the elemental powers like fire, water, air etc. Some say that hybrid wolves are the cursed wolves and some say that it's a gift from the moon-goddess. If you find multiple explanations of being a Hybrid wolf then don't fret, multiple folks have their multiple versions.

I shouted to myself, and with a tired sigh, I grabbed one of the Hybrid books and sat down. I flipped the pages open and began reading, pushing all thoughts of Zane, the Pack, and my insecurities out of my head. This wasn’t the time to think of that stuff; I needed to read and understand what was going on so I could figure out what to do. Focused, I began reading and flipping through pages. The information wasn’t easy to take in. Most of the Hybrid species had been wiped out a long time ago, and the few ones that were left were being hunted, captured, and then…killed.

My sister said. "Yeah, there's going to be several different packs here today. One of them has to be your mate." My brother said. "I hope all your friends aren't coming?" The book itself was full of all sorts of Vampire lore, the chapters on the blood moon hidden buried within and written in an ancient tongue. No, he doubted they’d question anything at all. Unless the girl showed up. He’d heard talk of her, knew she could read minds. He knew little else, only that she was some sort of a Hybrid and one needed to be cautious or else she could insert herself into one’s thoughts and even make them do things they wouldn’t normally do. If she were to discover what they were up to, the entire plan would be foiled. Thus the need for a long chain of untraceable contacts and a group of newborns to actually help carry out the plan. she whispered, more to herself than to me. “Hmm, I hope so too…” I mumbled absentmindedly as my eyes caught a new section just beneath the Hybrids. It explained that Hybrids could be created through a combination of multiple species—werewolves, witches, and… As my gaze stopped on the last entry, my blood turned cold. Hybrids could also be made from the combination of a vampire and a human. My thoughts instantly went to Nyra—who had also gone silent as her eyes followed mine on the page.

The one on the right continued. "As for Hybrids, they are a cross-breed of two or more different supernatural species. It can be a werewolf turned into a vampire or a ........." "We get it," I answered cutting him off. "We apologize." The one on the left said in a respectful tone. "Well, I think she's neither of those," Landon said in a disappointed tone as I nodded. I too felt the same way. "Pardon me alphas. But may I know who you are talking about?" The one on the right side asked.
