Jace Herondale's P.O.V. I woke up with a face full of hair and a massive erection. The hell? Combing back the honey-colored tresses with my fingers, I blinked open one eye and saw that I was still in bed with Hera. I’d fallen asleep listening to her deep, steady breaths, enjoying the closeness long after I should have moved to my own room. It usually took me forever to unwind enough to fall asleep after a shift, but lying there in the darkness and listening to her breathe, I was able to break through the day’s tension and just relax.

It was the same lullaby that had started all this and I wondered if the Moon goddess had created this Lullaby to make Ephialtes go to sleep. The gentle melody sent a soothing sensation through our body as if willing us to sleep as well making me sag against Cain’s body as I sat down on the ground tired but happy at last. We were safe. We were all safe. I couldn’t believe that we had been able to defeat Ephialtes at last… “Asa,” Cain called out as I hummed along to the lullaby feeling at peace as I felt my body grow heavy with the gentle song that played. Was I feeling sleepy, as well?

Her voice low and hypnotic washing over him like a pain reliever. "You are going to be okay. Go to sleep!" The voice came again putting him to sleep immediately. --------- Thanatos pulled his hood back over his head. Immediately he stood up from the trunk the whole image turned to vacant space. "You had orders not to send him back!" A voice said coming from a man in the distance behind him. "Since when do father's orders interfere in the will of fate?" He asked turning towards his brother, Hypno the god of sleep. "He was key to opening the gates and securing our freedom!" He boomed.

But they couldn't save the man who had been their rock. She thought of Ashiel. Of his sacrifice. He had given everything to protect the song of life. And now Ronan, in his own way, was sacrificing too, trapped in a silence far deeper than the Hush's. She leaned her forehead against Ronan's cold, unfeeling shoulder. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I'm so sorry we can't get you out." And then, without thinking, she began to hum. It wasn't the garden song or a song of power. It was the lullaby she used to sing to Lyra when she was a baby. A simple, repetitive tune about the moon and the stars and a mother's love.

I wish I could just stay awake… “I promise- Your lullaby, will you teach it to me?” I asked, snuggling closer to him. I wanted to hear his heartbeat before I couldn’t fight this growing exhaustion. “Yes, I promise I will.” He replied hugging me tighter. He took a deep breath and started humming the lullaby that he first hummed to me as I recovered from one of Lewis’s attacks. I love this lullaby… I love your voice. I started to feel like I was sinking lower and lower into a dark scary pit. “I love you… No matter what.” I whispered as I felt myself plunge below into the darkness. No matter what.

“So, not that this little exchange isn't pleasant, ...?” “Halona.” “Right. Halona. My name is Hypnos. I am sure that you have heard of me. It is nice to meet you. ” “Like wise.” I reply. “But we have ourselves a problem. You see, this is my room. The only room in this God forsaken chrome and steel Hell hole that I can actually get some sleep in. But you are here..” He gestures to me, laying in the bed. “See the dilema? Now, I would have no problem with joining you in said bed and sleeping until lunch time tomorrow, yet something tells me that you wouldn't go for that.”

He also realised that the music he could still hear coming from the cafeteria had suddenly stopped playing and everything else had turned silent, except for the low whirring sound coming from the glowing book. Then, all at once, the eerie feeling drifted away but the book was still glowing and now he could hear the music again. 🎵I'm on the highway to hell, Highway to hell! The highway to hell, Highway to hell! Led Zeppelin's song was the one that brought back that eerie feeling as Jake got up, stashing the book back in his bag. "That's wrong," came a voice which made him turn around to find a boy, a student who he had seen earlier when he walked into that section of the library.

••Athara•• As I cradled our son in my arms, I hummed a soft lullaby that my mother used to sing to me when I was a child. The sweet melody filled the room, and my little boy’s eyes slowly began to flutter close. I closed my eyes too, breathing in the scent of his soft hair as I lost myself to the music. I put him to bed when he was quite asleep. "Sleep tight, my handsome little man," I said in the middle of humming the lullaby that made him close his eyes.
