Inside, a Black Mamba flicked its tongue, fixing its dead eyes on me with a blood-curdling hiss. The guards popped the lid, grabbed my arms, and shoved me toward it. The sheer agony of being eaten alive by a venomous snake in my past life flashed before my eyes. I fought back fiercely and screamed, "That garter is made of cheap synthetic fabric! I'm allergic to it. I never wear stuff like that. That thing is absolutely not mine!"

His deep voice replied without answering the question, "What do you think about that snake?" I replied, "It was mean." "Why do you say that?" "I passed out after it licked me. Fortunately, its venom wasn't lethal, or I’d be dead by now." His body stiffened, and he said, "What if the snake was trying to save you?" "Wild beasts are ferocious. They will always attack people for no reason and eat them.
