I Never Thought Of It That Way Novels & Stories

A thought settled in my mind that didn’t sit right. How long has this rot been going on?

I don’t respond because I’m already thinking it. I hate to say it, but I think we've been played.

Well, it's crazy how that didn't even cross my mind. Who knows, maybe I was losing my mind or I had completely lost it...

Never in a million years would I have imagined this. Did that mean…..

I was not thinking. Stupid, stupid me.

As I stepped out of the office and into the elevator, a single thought ran through my mind. How could I've been so stupid?

Of course I did, I thought of everything goddammit! I knew this day would come, it is inevitable. I just didn’t think it would be so soon, I thought it would be something in the distant future after I might have held my grandchildren and watched as my little girls become good mothers, just like me. I never thought it would so soon, I just can’t let them go so easily!

I wanted thing a to be back to the way they were but after this, I don’t think it’ll ever happen. Not now, Not anytime soon

“You don’t see me that way. I get it.” The words hit harder than I expected. “I never thought about it,” I admitted. “Not like that.” He smiled faintly, sad and sharp. “Then let’s keep it that way. We can’t afford distractions.”
