ELIAS …. Third stupid year started some weeks ago, and men! I feel on top of the world, cause not only would I be out of the fucking hellhole soon, but also because of the fact that am all alone, just like how I like it. Alone? Why on earth would anyone like to be alone? To give a brief flashback, let me take you back to my pathetic damn sad story.

I shrugged, realizing not a single one of those questions are really any of my business after all. Besides, I am offically a rogue now. No mate, no pack, no friend to go back to. I'm completely alone. The thought made me wrap my arms around me, hugging myself while I let this new reality sink in. 'You're not alone, El. Remember that.' Ares whispers comforrtingly inside my mind, and I let out a deep breath knowing she's right. I have her. We have each other, and that's all that matters now.

I'm alone in the fucking world. There's no one to even know I've left or where I'm going. Never has the feeling of complete abandonment been so front and center as it is right now. There's a heaviness in my gut, a tightness in my throat. Is this where I give up? Is this the end for me? When I finally say enough is enough and tell this cruel place I'm in both physically and mentally I've had enough?

Afraid that needing someone made me weak. Now I’m starting to realize that pushing her away made me weaker than anything else ever could. I glance at the shattered phone on the floor. At the journal. At the empty bed. And for the first time in years, I feel completely and utterly alone.

“You don’t have to do everything alone.” “I know,” I said. “But sometimes alone is the only way I remember who I am.” “You don’t have to be alone with me in the room to remember that,” he said. The words landed somewhere in my chest that made me flinch and smile at the same time. It was a small thread and we’d both started pulling it. I didn’t know if it would fray or hold. Right now, it existed, and that was enough. We walked out together into the wet air. The world hummed with its own life: cars, distant music, someone laughing too loud at a bar. For a moment, everything else fell away.

“It’s the only way I learn anything from you anymore. It feels like I don’t know you at all anymore.” “It feels like I don’t know you either,” I say. And it hits me. It does feel like I don’t know my own brother, even though he’s truly the only person I have left in this world. I am truly alone.
