I've Got A Darkness Shining Through Me Novels & Stories

Well, at least I finally got something I can do as a mage, right? Water splintered like glistening crystals as I turned and followed the rhythm with precision. I closed my eyes as I continued on my track, there was another smooth splash. Once again, I turned and leaped a little, then faced the audience and opened my eyes. I thought I'd see my expectants watching me in awe. But to my surprise, my line of vision was directed to a pair of unfamiliar pitch black eyes, the darkest shade of black I've ever seen in my whole life.

My best at this moment is not enough. I force my eyes open. “Stay awake Ivy. Don't let them get to you,” I mumble, trying to give myself some motivation to keep on pushing. My body stills, unable to move any further. I stretch my hand towards Damon, who is just a few feet away. “Just one more,” I breathe out. “One more.” Everywhere vanishes into nothing but darkness. I can't see anything, only an unending empty, dark space. Darkness. It envelopes me and I feel myself accepting it.

Ina had been born. The club lived. A universe of light and darkness, where sin ran rampant, and secrets were exchanged under bass beats. Music thudded off walls like a pulse, neon illuminating a dangerous sheen on bodies in motion to the rhythm of the night. Ina came, the heel of her shoe clicking against marble, and eyes following involuntarily without so much as a thought. Power. Freedom. Danger. She breathed it all. Tonight, she was not Lily. Tonight, she was better. She was unbeatable.

The room was drowned in silence. The dais figure then spoke, a rich, throaty sound that washed over the room like a comforting duvet. “My friends. My family. The full moon is coming.” “The moon is coming…” the crowd groaned in unison. “Tonight we gather in preparation for this divine blessing, this power of nature that sets us apart from the world.” “We are apart from others. We are special.” The crowd muttered together. “But tonight we are not alone. There is one amongst us who should not be here.”

I am too ugly to be loved. My hand fell completely limp against the cold road. The darkness inside my head grew bigger, pulling me under like a heavy wave. I closed my eyes tightly, ready to let go completely. I didn't want to wake up anymore. But then, through the dark, two bright circles of yellow light cut through the trees in the distance. The sound of a heavy car engine rumbled against the quiet night, getting closer and closer.

The words shatter whatever strength I have left, te world tilts violently, the darkness rushes toward me and I let it take me, I don't need the reminder of how foolish I was. Everything goes black.

I think I’m losing the battle because the darkness is getting bigger and bigger. ♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦

Spitting on my worst nightmare Breaking through the utter chaos and darkness, a warm light appeared behind me. Wrapping around me like a blanket, the light grew wider as it pushed everything further away. The sounds faded, and the chaotic flashes of images and colors stilled. There was only my raging heart, my pulse cursing through my ears, and soft cries that, despite my effort, grew to trembling and ugly crying. But the soft touch. I’ve never been healed before, but I’m sure this is what it feels like—warm, light, warm hands chasing the darkness and pain away.

Nisha. I remain silent in the darkness of the room, it's been hours since Griffin left here, no one has come back in, I stopped crying a long time ago, there's no point in doing it, I need to find out what he wants from me. However at that moment I remember Dark's words, "he set his eyes on you, there is no way or way you won't end up in his clutches... when a mobster wants something he doesn't stop until he gets it" his eyes on me, he wants say you like it? But what need does he have to kidnap me, who doesn't know how to ask for things like a normal person? I sigh at how ridiculous my thought sounds, it's a mobster who says they're normal.

I wiped the sweat off my forehead and I turned on the lights. When I glanced at my phone it was only 2.am in the morning. It was just a nightmare. I sighed deeply and slumped on the bed. Music slowly playing in the background.
