The Wicked Empress and her Possessive Beast

The Wicked Empress and her Possessive Beast

Only the faint ache still lingering beneath her ribs betrayed how difficult that composure had been to reclaim. “The northern emperor,” she said coolly, “has apparently allowed himself to be injured through military incompetence.” Relief flickered subtly through the chamber as the ministers watched their empress regain her usual composure. They mistook the cool expression for indifference, assumed the dispatch contained nothing of real consequence, and gradually returned their attention to tariffs, ledgers, and trade routes. The misunderstanding suited Halrem perfectly. No one needed to know that for several dangerous moments, a single line of text had unsettled her more thoroughly than any

The Return of the Emperor

The Return of the Emperor

“Least of all me.” Zane almost asked her—what’s in it for you? What do you gain from this suicide pact? What if it backfires? But the words died on his tongue. Because he knew better. Of course she didn’t want this marriage. Of course she was playing her own game. The Crown Prince’s voice pulled him back. “My father has fixed the wedding in two days. Vaani’s father will arrive from Dharakand. The hall will be flooded with nobles, guards, and eyes. I need you to help me quietly leave the palace before the ceremony.” His words were steel wrapped in silk.

The Princess's second chance

The Princess's second chance

I lifted my face to look at William, and he smiled bemusedly and kindly. I looked over my shoulder and saw my nanny returning with the cake in her hands, I had to hurry or everything would go wrong. Furthermore, I leaned towards William, surprising him, but I had to do it, even if I was on the verge of a seizure and dying of shame. I took a deep breath and then said, "In one breath. "I need you to listen to me, sir," I said, taking another deep breath. "The emperor intends to send you to the battlefield, but before that happens, I need you to help me."

Rejected by the Luna Queen

Rejected by the Luna Queen

"If my spears knew their name, their body would be torn into bloody pieces on the floor by now." Lydia inwardly scoffs at his pathetic act but maintains her perfect composure at the head of the table. "I will give the guilty party one last final chance to confess their crime before my claws move. Given your long winter cycles of service to the Bloodclaw Dominion Group, my throne might show some tiny bit of leniency!" The executive elders exchange highly uneasy glances across the room, but not a single mouth speaks up.

The Wolves' Empress.

The Wolves' Empress.

He told himself he had done worse before, and the empire had survived because of it. Still, the name echoed in his head. Sierralya. He pushed away from the table and crossed the room, stopping at the window. From here, the palace grounds looked calm. Orderly. As if nothing beneath them was rotting. As if there weren’t things buried so deep even he pretended not to remember them. “She’s my daughter,” he said aloud, to no one. The words didn’t change anything. “Dismissed.” The councilors filed out slowly. When the doors finally closed, he was left with just Caspian.

Rejecting His Queen

Rejecting His Queen

I thought with Odishka and Shirisius in custody, we would be able to slowly get rid of the Shadows, but it seems our threats are bigger than we assumed. “My brother will not allow Demons into our country.” Princess Elizabeth says, sighing as she runs her hand across her face. “He only cares about what woman he can bring to his bed for the night and if there is new wine to drink.” She adds, smiling apologetically. “If he is so bad, why haven’t you taken the throne by force?” Aahana asks, voicing what we all were thinking. “Because we have protocols to follow. Protocols that I have been slowly implementing. It takes time to take the throne by force.” The Princess answers, making me smile. It s

The King's Brightest Star

The King's Brightest Star

“I was an emergency nurse, too. So, I have seen it first-hand… I do not feel proud of how little I have done despite my husband being in a position of power and I am ashamed that my husband went in there and told you to forgive your mate because his godson looked bad in front of the world.” “Thank you…” she muttered. “Then what should I do?” Ellis asked. She didn’t want to go back. She wanted things to change. “You have power. You can make things change.” Ellis thought. “If you want, you can take residence in one of the government quarters. You have been crowned the Empress, so you are part of the government and you can live for free for a while. You don’t need to worry about food as I will

(Part 2) I have to commend the author for having such an amazing ability to come with an amazing story! The characters are lovable! There’s humor, passion and a good solid story around it! What more could you ask for! It’s definitely worth your gems and time! You’ll love this!

This was such an interesting story! I enjoyed the characters and plot development. A recommended read! One hiccup was that throughout various chapters there was random errors in the names (e.g, Ellis named Bella). It was a bit distracting but not a deal breaker.

Noble Girls Bullied Me, But My Mom Is the Empress

Noble Girls Bullied Me, But My Mom Is the Empress

"Stuff some more trash in there. Trash deserves a trash can for a locker." At noon I went to the locker room to change my shoes. I had just come through the door when I saw Venetia and a few other rich girls throwing garbage into my locker. It was packed so full the door would not close. My coat and my shoes were in the actual garbage can. Venetia raised an eyebrow when she saw me come in. "Good. Now you've seen it. You aren't welcome at this school. Trash belongs where it belongs. "I'll give you one more week to leave on your own. Otherwise, I've got other ways to deal with you." I answered coldly, "You don't get to decide who stays at this school." Venetia gave a soft laugh and drew one im

The Second Shore

The Second Shore

Lucien Arden took the throne. He crowned Rosalind Hartwell empress. And Evelyn Hartwell—the principal wife who had fought at his side all the way from embattled prince to emperor—was given only the rank of Imperial Consort. The day the decree came down, Silverleaf Palace was completely silent. Every servant kept their head lowered and hardly dared to breathe, afraid that Evelyn would weep, or throw things, or come apart the way any consort does when the emperor's favor leaves her. Evelyn simply accepted the decree, calmly. “I thank His Majesty for his generosity.” There was no movement in her voice and nothing in her face. Even her beautiful eyes held not the slightest trace of grief.
