“Good day, all. I am Mary Vaughn-Hamilton, daughter of Gerald Vaughn, Alpha of the Phoenix Pack, but some may know me as the Luna of the San Francisco Pack. Before drafting this message, I battled with myself, because I was unsure if it was the best thing to do. It is now clear to me that I should never have allowed myself to be silenced. "She is right about you being gross. And also a moron. What's her other half anyway?" Phoenix sighs. "She's half-angel." Oh, the irony... "I know it's ironic, but I can't help who I'm attracted to," Phoenix says defensively. I nod. "I understand that, but trying to take my powers to impress her is not the way to go about it. You need to find a different approach, something that doesn't involve hurting others." Phoenix looks down. "You're right. I'm sorry, Ivy. I know I messed up." His eyes suddenly light up. "Hey, you are a girl!"

"Eh?" Phoenix was actually surprised to see her bodyguard defeated so easily. She raised her chin proudly at Frank as she asked, "Who are you?" "You should introduce yourself before you ask for someone else's name," Frank said, dropping the mush and leveling an impassive stare at Phoenix. "Heh." Seeing that Frank was so fearless, Phoenix quickly presumed that he was the apprentice of a hidden sect. Chuckling coolly, she nodded at Frank, "Phoenix Ardron of Cloudnine Sect." "Phoenix Ardron."

We were halfway across the yard when he said it. “You know, Brenna—” I stopped walking. Turned to face him. “Phoenix,” I said, voice low but firm. “I prefer Phoenix.” He blinked, surprised. “Sorry. I didn’t mean—” “I know,” I said, eyes locked on his. “But Brenna sounds like you forgot who I am. Phoenix is who I became.” He smiled, slow and wicked. “I like your territorial side.” I rolled my eyes, but my lips tugged into a grin. “It’s not territorial. It’s truth.”

Nyra’s POV ‘Why do I feel like there were a whole lot of things that had happened and…’ “You have questions,” Serenyx’s voice echoed calmly in my mind, “and you will have your answers. But first… let’s give Silas a taste of what’s coming.” Her words boosted my morale. ‘How?’ I asked. She chuckled softly, “You’re stronger than you think, Nyra. A phoenix doesn’t need to be taught how to burn”

She exclaimed with excitement as I gave her a toothy grin. Gesturing toward the individuals on the ground I shook my head and told her that I didn't want anyone worshipping me. “The Moon Goddess is our deity,” I asserted firmly and the woman smiled widely before clapping her hands and telling everyone to back off. Wisdom then quickly poked my skin with a pin and tasted my blood while I said, “Ouch.” I eyed her incredulously when she glanced back at me with a confused scowl. “You have Phoenix blood and yet are also the Sacred Shewolf. This is very confusing since you are both unique creatures combined into one,” she said breathlessly before she lowered herself in front of me.

"That's impossible. He's dead. He died ten years ago." But I recognized him from the portraits lining the sanctuary's halls. Cassia's son. Kira's older brother. Marcus Phoenix's first attempt at creating a phoenix-wolf hybrid through torture instead of birth. "Cyrus," Marcus Phoenix breathed, and for the first time since I'd met him, he looked truly broken. The Shadow Walkers were using him like a living key, his corrupted phoenix fire eating through the sanctuary's wards from the inside out. Every scream that tore from his throat took another layer of protection with it.

"I’m in middle school. You’re in high school. Of course we’ve never met." He smiled and tilted his head. "How do you know I’m in high school?" My brain short-circuited. "W-Who doesn’t know you? You’re the most famous person in school… and Emma—she’s in my class. We saw you visiting a few times." He chuckled and shook his head. "What’s your name?" I blushed at the question. "V-Violet." _____ Present

They were silver. I froze. Hunter whispered, “Moon… she has the power of the moon… how?” Valerie’s breath came out in ragged bursts. Power rippled off her in waves, bending the grass, rattling the wooden beams around us. “Xavier,” she choked out. “I… I can’t stop it…” I didn’t hesitate. I grabbed her wrists and yanked her toward me, her body slamming into my chest as her wolf fought against itself, against her skin, against the air.

"Seraphina Agni, save our clan and come back safe. We need you, before our clan disappears, please— save the phoenix from crying..."
